Ivy Clifton Brasserie

A long weekend contract for my husband in Bristol was his selection of gifts. I was recommended to the Ivy to make his weekend break special. The booking on the line seemed easy. I was offered the choice of afternoon tea or a la carte. When selecting A la Carte I received a selection of times for the selected date. Upon arrival we received afternoon tea menus. The waitress replaced this on a different menu when I explained that tea was not what I booked. The result was disappointing. The menu we were given was for brunch, with a limited choice. While the food was fine, it was disappointing not to give my husband the contract he had anticipated. Upon departure I wondered why we got this menu...

As a vegetarian, it's great that I have a wide choice of dishes. Most restaurants are very limited, usually a risotto and or goat cheese and red onion tart! This is usually my lot, I see with envy on my partner options. The Soufflé is from this world, highly recommended!

As always a fabulous standard and service. . We had the afternoon tea for a birthday treat. A minor personal comment/feedback would be we would have preferred slightly more savoury dishes. It was very heavy on the sweet dishes fo my taste. .
