This is probably the worst customer NO care restaurant I have been to in the last 8 years in Sydney.From the phone reservation (quote: you have to share a table.......and place was 30% empty at arrival) to seating (on a pouch, not even a proper chair) with 10 minute wait (while there is NOBODY in front of us). We ordered after 20 minutes wait and had to grab a waitress for attention, then waited 20 minutes for our starters BUT only then were we informed that 2 starters out of 3 were not available. Another 10 minutes wait for 1 starter which was cold, under cooked and had absolutely no trimmings. A couple of years ago we came here almost weekly. Having only recently returned to live in Sydney, we thought we would test Iyara out again to see if it retained its quality. I would say that some of the very attentive staff no longer work there. They used to be so attentive that your glass of water would never empty! We used to joke about this as it was so impressive. This time around, the service was not bad, but just not very attentive. For instance, after the first drinks, no one came back to check to see if we wanted any more. I have been going to Iyara since it opened. It has a great atmosphere and always had consistently good food. The latest meal I had there was poor, has it changed chefs? Ownership? The service was below average and they asked us to leave at 9.15pm. The Massaman curry was inedible, chunks of beef that were tough in a white-beige sauce, no potato in it. The duck was all fat with a bit of tough flesh attached. The Pad Thai was very good. Very unfortunate meal as it has always been great.
Have been coming to Iyara for years for their excellent Thai cooking , however , last three times have been very disappointed. Cooking is bland, stir fries that were sensational now have no flavour , and seems to be a shortage of efficient staff. We have given them three chances to improve but feel we will cross them off the list as there are so many choices out there. Such a shame as was our favourite Thai restaurant and the family always looked forward to our evenings at Iyara.

Very nice Thai food with a difference, like Massuman Lamb Shank. Menu has the regular dishes and some quite different to other restaurants. Nice friendly staff and quick service. Pays to book on weekends. BYO.
Went on a Tue night. Service was hopeless. Waited over 1 hr between entrees and main! Never again! They had one cook and one wait staff. Trying to save $ on staff costs means that customers don't come back!!!
Disappointing food, not to the standards they had here before.when there are so many other options for Thai food in Gladesville, I'm surprised they've survived
One of the best Thai restaurants I have been too. The service is very friendly. It's child friendly which is great and the food is incredible!

Family dinner - busy - food was okay ... simple thai - nothing special ... cant fault it ... fish cakes - satay - curry ...
We are regulars at this restaurant & just love their thai food!! It is very tasty & they are generous with their servings!!
