My pork skewer was not cooked properly, the tempura seafood was like battered fish and chips and not a proper tempura and it was also pre cooked and not done fresh. The sushimi was very thick and not cut properly. the japenese pickles were tastless. If you are going to hold yourself out as a japenese restaurant charging the prices you charge you need to get it right parituclary with ingrediants. This is our third visit to Izakaya Publico and we could not recommend this restaurant enough. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is AMAZING and the atmosphere is classy and relaxed. The mural on the back wall, mood lighting and well spaced seating make this restaurant the perfect place to spend time with friends or meet for business events. My favourite part of the evening was when the chef let us watch the Tomahawk steak be soaked in alcohol and be lit on fire. we made the premium set menu and it came all within 10 minutes. I would suggest removing the tellers to make the dinner longer (we had gone after an hour) and also for more space on the table as it was jam packed. a slower experience would have been much more pleasant. that means eating and drinking were great and while our waiter was a little nervous, he was very beautiful and attentive.
Some of the food was excellent, while other dishes were just okay, but none of it was bad. We had to ask the manager for permission to order what we wanted, but they handled it graciously in the end. It was a bit difficult to find, so I had to meet my older mother at the corner and walk her there.

This is a new restaurant in a new hotel in Brisbane CBD. We stumbled upon it on Instagram and figured we must give it a try. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely amazing. The ambience and the service were also excellent. 100% would recommend it to anyone!
The service was the worst I've experienced, especially considering the price, and the food was only mediocre for what we paid. I had higher expectations. On the plus side, the venue is beautiful and the cocktails are good.

Definitely coming to visit again! Was expecting the food servings to be small but we struggled to finish everything. The quality was amazing too!
Food was extremely overpriced for what was given, and very disappointing. Would not return.
