Very nice restaurant, food is great, service is great and the atmosphere is great. Came here for my fiancee's company dinner and had a great experience. I had the Cajun Trout and it was amazing, really flavorful and a big portion too. All the other dishes looked delicious too, I've heard they had amazing desserts but unfortunately I was stuffed and could not have any. The decor is very classy and the staff are very friendly and professional, our waitress made sure everyone and everything was taken care of and came often to see if we needed anything else. Highly recommend this restaurant.
I've visited this restaurant three times, and I’ve been impressed each time. The food is fantastic and more affordable compared to other steakhouses in the city. The waitstaff is knowledgeable, friendly, and occasionally humorous. Last Friday, I had Gabriel as my server, and he was excellent. My wife ordered the steak kabobs while I chose the steak along with the fries (I substituted smashed potatoes). The potatoes are amazing! I definitely recommend this place and will be returning. If they have the pumpkin cheesecake available, be sure to try it—it's delicious!
This was our third visit to J. Alexander's, and the food and service have consistently been excellent. However, our birthday celebration for my wife and a good friend was somewhat spoiled. Unfortunately, two women and five children were seated next to us, and they behaved as if they were in a playground rather than a restaurant. The children were running around the table and being quite noisy. We brought this to the attention of the manager, but it seemed like he hesitated to address the issue, possibly because the women belonged to a particular religious group.
Alexis and Nick were incredibly friendly and welcoming! They offered great suggestions for the Bourbon Trail and highlighted beautiful sights in the area. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were fortunate to get a table. It felt like being part of a small community that embraced us in Lexington. My family and I have been enjoying going out to eat every other week. My older sister mentioned this place and I had never been before. We made reservations and were seated promptly. Our waiter was very attentive and kept our glasses full. The food came out hot and delicious. I don’t know how my Husband and I have never eaten here? We are foodies! Lol We will definitely come here again.
j. alexander's has become one of our favorite restaurants in Lexington. The service is consistently excellent, and the food is always satisfying. The issue with the overly cold air conditioning has improved, making it much more comfortable without the need for a jacket or pullover. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Always a great experience when my boyfriend and I come here for date night! Tonight we had Thomas as our waiter and he was excellent. Didn’t have to ask for refills, very knowledgeable about the menu and very kind. Food was on point as always. Will be back to visit soon!
