I visited Jack's restaurant with my sisters and my fiancée while on holiday. Since we arrived in Southern California, we hadn't found a good vegan meal, so discovering Jack's was a delightful surprise. The restaurant is located just a mile from Dana Point, and it has a calm and high-quality atmosphere. Our server was fantastic; we were seated right away, and he recommended some of the best vegan dishes on the menu. We started with polenta and a salad, and then shared all three of the vegan duck options for dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious! We left feeling full and happy. Early dinner for our anniversary turned out great! Made reservations for outdoor seating.. though it was not busy when we arrived. Server and Manager were warm and courteous. Great service. Cocktails were done right. Coconut mojita, lemon drop, kings club. The walking fool blend was a great choice. House bread was a good assortment. Appetizers were smaller portions of calamari. Bruschetta was flavorful. Lamp chops was great and medium rare would be best. The salmon, trout and A la checa angel hair were good portions and done right..the choco chip creme brule and pana cotta were a great choice of dessert. Place can get a makeover..recommended ..
The service was friendly, the food was moderate, they try to be Italian, but failed on all fronts. I'm allergic to milk and the menu didn't say that the Bruschetta had cheese that was a little annoying, but I asked my fault. The polpo was more chorizo than octopus, and her risotto was not slowly cooked. They had no espresso and made their canoli with heavy cream. (Proper Canoli cream is ricotta and sweetener sugar) Not terrible, but I wouldn't go back.
Jack is a really nice find. A good special place, but not laborious. I found the staff very professional. I had the calf piccata and it was excellent. Auberginen Parmesan appetizer was very nice. Service was wonderful! Shrimp was overcooked in the pasta but the medallions made up for it! It was cooked perfectly and deliciously tender. The limoncello dessert was so amazing! The potato croquettes were scrumptious and the lobster ravioli was rich in flavor.
It was early, 25 minutes. I recognized that. MANY open tables with 3 stands, which was a preference. I had to wait 15 minutes because he had "a few reservations before me. With so many open tables and still having to wait, I left and canceled...
Delicious food and great service! The complementary bread is nice! We got the Jacks salad, bruschetta app. and ravioli Magro. They were all very good. My only issue was they gave me the wrong food at first. Would definitely go here again!

Rust serves. The food was delicious, although it was busy, our waiter Kyril was very entertaining quickly. We took care of hunger. Thanks Kyril for the wonderful time at the Jack's restaurant.
