We have recently returned from having lunch at this restaurant, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The staff were unapologetic, which has prompted me to write this review. We were seated and placed our order, although the waitress was unfriendly. When she brought the three milkshakes we ordered for the children, my 11-year-old daughter reached out to take one, but the waitress let go before she had a firm hold, causing the milkshake to spill everywhere. Despite this mess, the staff did not offer any assistance or apologize. We were asked to move tables and had to find our own additional chair while the waitress cleaned up the mess. I strongly suggest that you consider the various other establishments in Dulwich before visiting Jade. We went for lunch today the waitress that served was sullen and miserable. We ordered milkshakes when they arrived instead of putting the glass on the table she handed it...to the 11 year and without waiting to see if she had hold, she let go! There was Vanilla milkshake everywhere but no apology. From the look on her face she was sure it was our fault she proceeded to wipe the floor and area. She suggested we moved tables but did not show us where to move to, just carried on cleaning up. There were not enough chairs so I went back to the previous table and got one myself. A cute french cafe with lots of lovely pastries and baked breads. Unfortunately, they don't concentrate on cooked breakfasts with the same enthusiasm. I had eggs florentine that had watery hollandaise with wayvtoo much vinegar. I ordered a side of sausage and mushroom. £2 each....I received one sausage and one top of a portobello mushroom that was chewy and seemed deep fried. Surely not worth £2. All staff with no eye contact and quite unfriendly. This was 9:30 on a Monday morning, hardly run off their feet. Plenty of other places to choose from on the lane, save your money.
This is possibly the best English breakfast I have ever had. Although it is a bit pricey, it is worth it for the high level of quality. My partner's avocado toast was also delicious. The ingredients were fantastic, the dishes were beautifully presented, and everything was cooked perfectly. The drinks and baked goods were also tasty. The staff was friendly and the interior of the restaurant was very beautiful.

What a nice and welcoming place .... The food is very simple and perfect.. They also serving a very good coffee and that is making this little boulangerie the perfect destination for a good Breakfast or a nice Brunch .... Minus will be all the...noisy kids yelling and running around as it is a destination for mums and families living in the area ....
I was curious to come back here, and this time I had time to judge what I liked, not. coffee ok, pain au raisin okay, could have been fresher. generator sounds in beautiful terrace not good. a little sniff here table and chairs could with a rache (inside at least) ok for a stop over coffee
I've been visiting this caffe for years. the recipe that I receive varies greatly depending on who sometimes works charmingly and sometimes completely lacks in charm overtaken. the cakes and coffee etc. are all like pro, but when they get. a surly recipe what is the point?
Nice place. Coffee and cake very good. Staff and service excellent. The reason it’s an average score is additional cost for items like a different milk with coffee and cost for eating in (it’s something that should change post Covid)
