The most unpleasant dining experience I have had to date. We walked in and although every table apart from two were vacant, we were unsure of whether we could sit down as there was no-one to greet us. A group of around six people were waiting near the counter, most likely for takeaways. After standing awkwardly for a minute or so, we asked the lady serving behind the counter whether it was ok to take a seat - to which she just said 'yes'. We were greeted promptly by a waitress who was friendly, and as we sat down served us water. I asked for poppadoms and some mango chutney whilst we waited... I am still in disbelief that the lady who served me in an Indian restaurant DID NOT KNOW WHAT A POP...
We booked this restaurant for our sons birthday. Food was really nice n everything was well organised. Entree was served quick. But for main meal we had to wait around 40-45 minutes. Every time I asked how long main meal be I was told ten minutes. N also one other that really made us feel betrayed, when we went to book we had chat n was told it will be $20 per head. BUT time I went to pay after party was told it comes to $30 per head, cause it's extra for entree.When I said you said 20 at first, OWNERs response was OH I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU. I didn't want any drama so I did pay extra. So anyone book a table please confirm it.
I've dined here on many occasions. The food was great from the start, and has since been taken over by new owners who have modified the menu slightly with some tasty new additions. Who would have thought Honey/Chilli Cauliflower could be such a tasty entree option?? If I must complain about anything, it is the mildness of the hot dishes and the Chilli Naan Bread. They are still really tasty and they have told me to notify them if they want anything hotter but I don't like to be a pain. It is the general customers fault really, because so many idiots order hot dishes and then complain that they are HOT! *facepalm
I ordered a couple of meals through Menulog, as I was injured and couldn't walk or drive. The entrees were nice, samosas and a potato patty type of thing. The curries weren't bad but both the steamed rice and the palak paneer contained whole cardamon pods, which is EXTREMELY offputting when you bite and chew into a whole pod without realising it. I understand that that's authentic Indian to use whole pods, but when they're in a thick, dry curry it's almost impossible to see them and it ends up ruining the meal. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
My husband and I decided to order some food this evening to take away...all I can say is wow. The staff were friendly, welcoming and approachable. I had the Aloo Tikki as a starter, and my husband had the Bhajis...both starters were tasty. The Navratan Korma is really creamy, I normally prefer to have raita with my curries (for a little extra creamy-ness) but didn't need it on this occasion. Am glad we chose this place. We'll definitely consider coming back.
Unfortunately all i can say about the food and service would have to be average. We came to this restaurant on Monday night, only one other table of ppl and very few take away collections. Yet we still spent far to long waiting for orders to be taken or meals to come out. And then when they did...minimal meat in the dishes with way to much sauce and even a hair in our goat curry. Wouldn't recommend
Jannat Indian restaurant is fantastic. We have enjoyed both dine-in and take away. Everything we have ordered has been delicious. I highly recommend Jannat. The staff are friendly and polite. BYO is a great option. Jannat is a welcome addition to the Rivervale area.
Had butter chicken and chicken vindaloo.was tasty but almost no meat,just watery sauce and few pieces of meat. Both of us felt **** afterwards and turning stomach. Will never go there ever again.expensive and **** Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Don't be fooled by the shabby internal appearance, the curries here are tasty and good value. The beef madras is a favourite.
