Was für ein Ort, um am Sonntag Abend zu essen. Über das Dorf Maria Alm. Wo Sepp Geisler und seine Frau Claudia Wanderer in ihrer schönen Berghütte willkommen heißen. Unser kürzlicher Mittagessen mit langsam gebratenem Schwein mit Sauerkraut und Knödeln, die mit Kräutern aus ihrem Kräutergarten gewürzt waren, war erstklassig. Nach einer kurzen Pause beendeten wir mit Baurenkrabfen, einem frittierten Krapfen, gefüllt mit Claudias hausgemachter Marmelade. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.
What a place to have a Sunday lunch.overlooking the village of Maria Alm.Where Sepp Geisler and his wife Claudia welcome hikers to their beautiful mountain hut..Sepp a hotel trained chef cooks simple but delicious food .Our recent lunch of slow roast pork with sauerkraut and dumplings flavoured with herbs from their herb garden was first class.After a short rest we finished up with Baurenkrabfen.a deep fried doughnut.filled with Claudias home made jam..well worth a detour.
We purposefully went out of our way to find this alm as we had seen that it was rated really highly. We were disappointed! Firstly, it was difficult to get to - you have to make sure you are on the right piste! The food was good, but nothing special. There was not much choice on the menu but fine if you want a snack. On a sunny day, it is a lovely sunspot with nice views. I won't go out of my way again to visit though!

Das Gulasch war ausgezeichnet. Die Bauernschleppe, die eine begehrte lokale Delikatesse ist, sieht aus wie ein Donut, aber es gibt keinen Vergleich in seiner Zubereitung und Geschmack. Der Service war hervorragend. Alles wird heiß und zusammen gebracht, sodass man seinen Kaffee und die heißen Bauernschleppen genießen kann. Ich habe mit Claudia gesprochen.
The Wastlalm is a lovely small mountain restaurant just along from the top of the Hintermoos chairlift. If the weather is good, it has one of the best views in the area, down the mountain back towards Maria Alm. The view from the WC window is not to be missed...
