I have always loved this place! This post is about my recent visit. I was part of a group of 3 and we all ordered different things. I got the Taiwanese spicy with lamb T-Rex. The broth was really good if you are into spicy broth. I have tried spicy miso, seafood essence and Thai green curry the past which are equally good. The reasons I am giving a 4 stars and not 5 are following: They charge extra for the egg… Which end up being a $1.25 more. I understand that due to inflation you have to cut down and make money where you can. But this is a bit unreasonable. Other thing is that they really cut down on the amount of vegetables offered if you get T-Rex. I felt like they highly cut down on it....
Jazz Cat Rocks!!. Jazz Cat does it again!! I like Jazz Cat in San Gabriel except their layout, but this Rowland Height location offers good food and comfortable ambience as well. Three of us ordered two beefs and one lamb, two additional side dishes of seafood and squid. We had tomato, original and kelp broths. Meat was good quality and other food was as fresh as possible. I passed all other AYCE hot pot joints because they don't serve food with good quality. Our bill was only $60 included two glasses of draft beer.Service was attentive, and I'd like to mention their hostess Evan accommodated our seating request for my mom who was using a cane due to an accident. There's no need to think about it, this is the best hot pot restaurant in Socal. And if you're wondering what to get and how to prepare it, my suggestion is get the Thai spicy or seafood essence for the soup, ask for the garlic/cilantro/green onion/egg add-on and mix it with the soup. Order beef (T-Rex for the meat and don't forget to get the golden fish balls because they are heavenly. For the dipping sauce, satay works well with the beef. Try not to eat too fast : Enjoy!
We took our Mom to Jazz Cat for Mother's Day, her special request. We had a phenomenal meal. The staff was so kind and helpful. We ordered the Lamb T-Rex, the assorted fish and seafood, and had the Japanese Miso (Regular and Spicy). It was sooo yummy. We were glad to be able to celebrate Mom here. She was so happy! I love this place. I go almost every time I'm in LA. You choose a meat or vegetables, a soup base and a sauce. I like TRex beef with Japanese spicy miso with Japanese sesame sauce. If you dont like spicy, the Japanese miso is a good alternative. The golden fish balls are perfection in a bite.
Jazz cat!! The food is delicious. I was here a few months ago, and had to come back for more. The Thai spicy soup flavor is delicious! I also got the Thai spicy seafood pasta today. That was quite tasty. The yogurt flavored soju has a nice flavor!
This is where i want to be on Winter. Huge selections of broths! My favorite is the seafood broth very rich! If you want something creamy, get the milky one. After a while it'll even get creamier!
