While thankful to enjoy a great patio during the height of pandemic restrictions, I was really disappointed with my mushroom caps, which, according to the menu would be loaded with crab and shrimp. First of all, the presentation was terrible, a little shell-shaped dish with...five small mushrooms (okay, medium maaaybe) and some melted cheese burnt on the dish. It was not appetizing. I almost sent it back with a request to see any crab or shrimp once I started eating it. There was one mushroom cap with a lot of chewy green onion. I frequently purchase beer from this small liquor store once a week because it is local and offers good prices. On one occasion, my total came out to just under a dollar, and I handed the cashier a one-dollar bill. After checking her register, she informed me that she only had three twenty-dollar bills and if she gave me all of it, she wouldn't have enough change for the next customer. She suggested that I take my change to the nearby restaurant and then return. I questioned why she couldn't just give me my change if she had enough, to which she replied that it wouldn't be fair to the next customer. I was taken aback by her reasoning and felt that my needs as a customer were being disregarde...
I love the Jolly Coachman, it's our go to spot, like to support local business staff is great, love the patio especially now that it can be used year round. Was there last week and had the French Onion Soup and it was way...too salty, couldn't eat it. They took it off of my bill which I appreciated. Today popped in for a late snack during the happy hour when they have a reduced price menu, ordered chicken strips and fries. Chicken strips were fine but the fries were way over cooked, dark and oily and tasted like the oil that they were fried in had not been changed in quite some time. I was picking up more than just the flavor of French fries.
I would recommend arriving a few minutes early for Sunday brunch at this pub. The opening time may be a bit delayed. Despite being first in line and securing a seat, the service was slow and disorganized. The server took orders from nearby tables before acknowledging us, and seemed confused about who arrived first. After a considerable wait without service, we eventually decided to leave. It was a disappointing experience in our own neighborhood.
Dropped in for a beer and a snack Goat cheese bruschetta very flavourful. The best part was the Bartender (Owner who treated all her patrons with the hospitality of her own home and treated her staff with kindness and patience. Such a lovely...environment to relax and enjoy a beer! I will make the journey from White Rock again for breakfast and football!! Thank you!!
I had a terrible experience with the waitress at this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. I had invited my friend for brunch and the waitress was extremely rude. I was ready to leave when another waitress stepped in and provided us with respectful and attentive service. I haven't been back since then.
The food is always consistent not the best I ever had however far from the worst generally i leave satisfied service generally pretty good prices average i'd say but overall not a bad place to go
Your typical local Pub, a staple in Pitt Meadows for a very long time. Consistent and solid good food. If you want a good meal, friendly service then this is your place.
I have been there many times over the years and this is an old school pub experience. The staff are great and the food is excellent.
