I really enjoy this charming little mom-and-pop restaurant. The food is excellent, and the place is spotless and well-organized. It has a fantastic vintage atmosphere. The only downside is that the service can be quite slow, but the owner has a wonderful personality that makes up for it. I would definitely recommend it if you're not in a hurry. Plus, there’s a great little bar with a jukebox and everything!
It had been quite a while since I last visited The Jolly Jug, and I'm glad to see it's still around. It brings back fond memories of El Monte. This time, I chose to enjoy the traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner, and I must say the food was fantastic. The service was very warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. I also treated myself to an Irish Coffee from the bar. Cheers!
The owner was incredibly kind and assisted us with our order, making us feel very welcome on our first visit. We tried the MiMi dish, which featured delicious cornbread with cheese and coleslaw, accompanied by fries. While the meal was slightly pricey, it was very tasty and the portion sizes, though they appeared small, turned out to be just right.
We had a fantastic evening at the Jolly Jug in El Monte, filled with nostalgia. The Beef Dip sandwiches were incredibly delicious, and the service was outstanding! The service was outstanding. Based on other reviews I've read, the food can be hit or miss, but my experience was fantastic! I ordered the mimi, which is a roast beef sandwich, and they really piled it high. It also had excellent flavor. The interior was surprisingly well maintained for such an old establishment.
Fantastic food! I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of everything. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding—nothing is frozen. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, making it feel like I'm dining at home. Be sure not to miss this classic gem!
I visited Jolly Jug for the first time and was blown away by the exceptional food. We enjoyed our dining experience and had a fantastic time. The staff even invited us to come back and check out their on-site bar. I can’t wait to return!
