This is a great location for breakfast and the food is excellent. Unfortunately the coffee is too bitter and the complimentary water is unfiltered.In today's world of fierce competition for business, I really can't understand why restaurant owners don't understand the importance of overall customer experience.Something as simple as serving filtered water isn't rocket science but seems to be overlooked by otherwise excellent cafes and restaurants.Likewise with coffee, I wonder how many so called baristas actually taste the coffee they make or even really understand the importance of water temperature, extraction time and the grind consistency?So great location and great food, but I hope they...
A good spot to visit if you're on Brisbane's beautiful riverside in Ascot. We were on our way to airport with a visitor and decided to stop by for a breakfast. Parking is available in underground carpark, turn right at the cafe down laneway. Parking is tight but a couple of spots available. Stairway back up to cafe (can't recall if there was a lift). Sat outside, coolish morning, some sunny tables available. Coffee available with soy and almond milks. Staff pleasant, food delivered timely. Our guest ordered the eggs Benedict - very large generous serve! All meals really nicely presented, good value. Would dine again.
I love Journey!!! The best cafe in Brisbane - we've been coming here since it opened, and have been consistently impressed with the food and the service. The owner is always present, and comes by to make sure all is up to par - great place for children, they always bring the food out early. The menu is always inventive, but still has classics like pancakes and fruit muesli. Try their banana bread, the best I've ever had.
I rarely get this enthused about restaurants in Brisbane, but this one ticks all the boxes!
One Sunday morning we decided to visit because we were in the area. There were only two other couples and a bunch of flies having around. To me, the cappuccino was terrible - it tasted like burnt instant coffee, it was that bitter. The big breakfast was okay, but the mushrooms were rubbery and there was edamame for some reason. We won't be coming back here.

Good cafe, friendly staff and I left full. Great food. Coffee is a bit poor. Staff made it well but it all comes down to the bean. Thanks again guys
Really good food, great service, priced well. Good location. Some good coffee also and great seating. Parking isn't too bad, comes down to luck but there are plenty of side streets and then a short walk. I just love the location and seating, food and service
Based on their menu when I visited a few days previously we decided to try breakfast there. Item I saw on menu was not available and their menu was ok otherwise but not great. When you don't eat bread it was very bread heavy!
Completely underserviced. Simple eggs took over an hour. Disappointing. Appreciate that it is the holiday season but in this day and age, unacceptable.

Pleasant cafe with ample outdoor seating. Good menu with lots of choice particularly with own unique flavour. Good value and service.
