First place out since ... a long time. Called ahead about vaccine passports and got a very guarded yes to checking and yes to masking. Upon arrival the guy running the shop made a point of checking before we could place an order, again a bit guarded. Made a point of reassuring him we were quite happy to show our status and appreciated that he was actively providing us a safe environment to have a bit of a break. He seemed to cheer up at that. Interesting casual sort of a place. A bit of outside sitting, a bit more indoor seating. Fairly basic but nicely designed and implemented. A very comfortable ambiance. Great food, great atmosphere. This quiet little coffees shop is the perfect place for a quiet date, a quick meeting, or just to relax and concentrate. The reasonably priced coffee pairs well with the reasonably priced food, both which are very delicious. The yogurt is amazing and will leave you full. And just to be warned, the iced chocolate is very hard to drink slow it is so good
This was my first time at Joy and I really liked it! The interior is all wood, with simple decor and cozy backed-benches. I got a not-too sweet matcha oat-milk latte and the Tunisian sandwich. Both were great. It's a family-run place where you feel like a guest in someone's home ?
The humlafel (pictured) was amazing! Fresh house-baked fluffy pita. And a perfect soft boiled egg that ooooozed out rich yellow yolk after I cut it. Highly recommend!
