Julie's Taverna is in the heart of the quiet & picturesque village Santa Barbara De Nexe, just a short drive from away from the busy & over priced tourist traps of the Algarve. Situated in the centre of the village it's the perfect place to sit & enjoy a cold beer in the sunshine & watch the world go by. The owners, Julie in particular, go out of their way to make you feel welcome & nothing is too much trouble. If you crave a full English breakfast this is the place to go, they are outstanding & very reasonably priced. The customers here are mostly ex-pats who are also very friendly & welcoming, they are also a great source of local information if you want recommendations for the best beache...
My friend and I loved Julies hospitality. Martin was great as is Tanya and I will be visiting again hopefully again in November. if not in November, late Spring / Early Summer 2016.It was my first time to Portugal, so I was not really knowing what to expect. But it felt like I had been in Santa Barbara De Nexe for years by how welcoming the entire village / small town is.I forgot to get a group photo for memories to post up. However, when I return again, I will be looking to get that group photo.Cheers MeJulies as my friend and I nicknamed your bar. You have a good life, and good on you.
Read the reviews so popped in for breakfast. Got there just before opening time (10am) and they understandably needed time to set up. So we just had a coffee and OJ, both very nice and reasonably priced, and left. Our experience didn't match the comments but don't let that put you off I'm sure it will be better if you go later in the day.
We happened upon Julies while strolling around Santa Barbara De Nexe. Wow!! The bar owners, Julie and Martin, were wonderful!! The locals (ex pats) all pop in during the day and evening for a chat and a drink. Just a beautiful place to stop for a drink and/or to have an authentic English breakfast made by Julie!! Just wanted to say thanks to Julie -and some of her customers - for the help they gave us when we needed some emergency assistance following an unpleasant incident where we were staying. We also had a nice breakfast there earlier in our stayThanks again
Lovely Julie made us most welcome and even arranged a minibus for us for our transfer to the airport. Sadly for our boys we missed the full English breakfast. The toasted sandwiches were just fine though.
Prima plekje voor het favoriete ontbijt van de kids. Witte bonen in tomatensaus! Ook een full English breakfast is een aanrader! Zeer vriendelijke bediening.
