Julio's is flat out the best Italian restaurant in the West Orange area. The menu is diverse, and the portions are nicely sized. They have all the basic Italian dishes plus your not so basic ones. I recommend the Chef's Giambotta chicken, steak and sausage with peppers, onions, potatoes, etc. a real country style dish. They have a liquor license and they do not skimp on the drinks they are also on the bigger side. Julio is the owner and he is always there. Only downside is the decor. Not very stylish and for some reason attracts an older crowd. But the food can't be beat.

We 've been eating at Julios for forty years! He 's been at a few different locations during that time but, for us (and a lot of other locals) , everytime we walk in the door, it 's like coming home. The atmosphere and decor is comfortable but nothing special but Julio and his staff are like family, the drinks are huge and the food is wonderful. You know how The Olive Garden advertises (falsely) that when your here your family ? Well, at Julios, it 's really true!

Good and pleasant wait service. Julio the owner is always there to make sure everything runs smoothly. Prices are reasonable. A nice garden salad and warm Italian bread came with dinner. There was a beer and wine menu too. I chose veal marsala, which came with a medley of veggies. There were leftovers to take home. Prices were moderate. Service was friendly, but slow. You definitely don't feel rushed, because we stayed there for 3 hours.
The chopped salad was the best I have ever had!!! It was large enough that it was shared by two of us!!! Each of the three of us had parmesan dishes that were excellent The food was very good and the preparation was so good that I would say it was also the best I have had .
