I have no idea why I have not yet written a review of Karibu, as I can honestly say it is my favourite café in the whole of Perth hands down. As someone who relies heavily on her Bulletproof coffee every morning and religiously follows the Bulletproof diet and it's theories/research, discovering this spot in Subiaco was like hitting the jackpot for me. It is very hard to find Bulletproof coffee in Perth, or any low carb/high fat café for that matter, especially one where the coffee is made using the official Bulletproof products and ingredients, but Karibu uses and stocks the Bulletproof line and their coffee is obviously, due to this, fantastic! Finally got myself to Karibu, amazing range of paleo and low carb high fat meal options and also just plain "healthy" foods. Large variety of milk options, smoothies, juices and drinks available. A small variety of groceries items are also available, including some paleo staples such as Red Boat Fish Sauce, nitrate and sugar free bacon, organic grass fed butter, and Gingin Dry Aged mince meat. Karibu also sell Bulletproof coffee products including high octane MCT oils. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful, quick to serve and assist all customers. Not the most scenic setting but the experience makes up for that. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
I'm so happy that Karibu cafe is in perth. It is hard to find ketogenic meals, let alone a place that advocates the LCHF lifestyle! Karibu has a great selection of coffee (bulletproof and normal), low carb/sugar free desserts, cafe syle food and some pantry items. They also have some regular cafe food so there is something there for everyone. I had a grassfed burger on a cauliflower bun, a coconut chocolate BFC and a donut fat bomb. The staff were also very helpful and friendly, they were more than happy to share knowledge of the menu and provided quick service. It was all wonderful and I can't wait to go back! This little café was recommended as a place to try for lchf food and coffees. The staff recommended the food options but did not mention the BP coffee until after I had bought a flat white. However they did offer that I try a free sample. Hooked!Good range of food options which all looked fresh and tasted good. Staff are pleasant and helpful.Try not to miss this experience because there is a food revolution on the way and this is one of the very few retail outlets at the forefront. The first time we went there end of last year we had a very nice breakfast and the service was excellent. Went there again four weeks ago and found out that the quality of this otherwise lovely Café had gone down. The coffee was average, and the two filled croissants that we had ordered ("Do you want it heated up?" ~ "No, thank you!") came after almost 15 minutes, all wrinkly and...heated up. Sorry, won't be back. Not good enough...
My wife and i stayed next door for a week and i would go out of my way to get us coffee from here. The staff at king edward hospital are lucky to have such a nice and reasonably priced coffee shop next door.
Great location and really friendly staff. The food is lovely and not just run of the mill. Close to KEMH and they will deliver there! One of my favourite Subi cafés.
