We have been coming to Kaslo for years. It is truly a jewel in the crown that is the Kootenays of British Columbia. As well a must stop on each visit is the Kaslo Hotel Pub and Restaurant. Our favourite lunch meal was always the wonderful Clubhouse that litterly had an entire breast of chicken on it. Delicious. But something has happened, the old offerings are gone and replaced by a very condensed menu. They have the standard fish and chips, hamburgers, Reuben, and beef dip sandwiches. Basic pub fare with no flair. The service was disjointed and slow. It was as if everyone was just learning their jobs. An unusual experience in this Kaslo mainstay quite certainly. My 17 year old grandson and I had dinner at the Kaslo Hotel and enjoyed it. The waiters worked very hard to get everyone served efficiently and did a fine job.My grandson ordered fish and chips and said that they were excellent and my six ounce steak sandwich with a caesar salad was also good. There was a good selection of beers and both of mine went down well.We finished doff the meal with cream puffs, filled with chocolate sauce and covered with chocolate sauce. Yummy!After dinner we had a friendly game of darts in the bar and each won one game. :)
We hit the pub for our last day lunch and the second we got there we were told they were very busy and were slammed .....Guess what? It didn't matter, they apologized and still took the time to make sure we were looked after and it was worth the wait, if you can call it that. Exactly what you want in your restaurant staff ....We had two of the specials - mine was a steak sandwich that was cooked exactly the way I ordered it even if they were busy. The food was great and everyone enjoyed the meals ..... a great meal to end a great trip!
While visiting Ainsworth Hot Springs, took a side trip to Kaslo. Tried out the Kaslo Hotel Pub for dinner, very nice. Burgers were excellent, large portions. Marc our server was friendly & fast. A keeper. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We had a wonderful lunch made by the new chef Moe. I highly suggest the honey hot wings, there were delicious. My friends really enjoyed the yam & potato fries seasoning!
Drove up from Ainsworth and was thisrty. So we stopped for a pint and had a great conversation with the bartender. He gave us some great places to check out.
Friendly local and mature staff. Great food complimented by cold beer and an awesome view. What more would you want. Great value.

The food is good, the hotel is renovated and very attractive inside. The patio has a spectacular view of Kootenay Lake.
