While on a weekend road trip my group and I decided to get some Sushi while staying the night at the near by three valley gap hotel. Now I will be the first to admit that my partner and I didn't have high expectations for good Japanese dining in small town BC. We got here at opening with a hungry teenage soccer player. Service was great, food was so fast and so fresh, and the Chef's Choice for sushi lovers was top notch with a great and diverse selection. The chef even came to our table to serve the last two of three rolls and took the time to ask if there was anything we hadn't been served yet that we were wishing we had been...we suggested spice and he delivered. Last night, 23rd of July, had a dinner with four friends. Excellent service of the two women who served us. The were kind and smart and fun.I had tiger shrimps. Seemed good. But I didn't sleep all night and had a kind of indigestion.Wanted to email but found none.So here my experience.
First time we’ve taken our teenage boys to a Japanese restaurant. One of them doesn’t eat fish and the other one is extremely fussy. Everyone enjoyed it! Plenty to choose from on the menu. Very good sushi.Super surprising for inland! An impressive amount of cooked rolls for those not eating raw fish. The chefs choice sashimi was my favorite, although the server didn't know what we were eating so it was hard to know which fish was my favorite.
I recently had my birthday dinner at Kawakubo. They accommodated our large party in one of the upstairs rooms. Sarah was our server and she was amazing as always. We really enjoyed the delicious food drinks. Kawakubo never disappoints!
The food was amazing and came out super quick. The staff was so kind. We were sat near the host stand and got to hear just how welcoming and bubbly the hostess was with every customer. If I’m ever back in town, I will be returning!
