When I got home, just five minutes away, my food was cold. The cornbread was a major disappointment—there were no blueberries in it, and it was so dry that I nearly choked! The fish dinner featured three tiny whiting fillets that were under-seasoned and had a strange smell (a tip: use vinegar to clean fish before cooking). The beef brisket was shredded and dry, unlike the thick cuts shown in the photos—completely flavorless and fatty. The supposed 1-pound order of pork baby back ribs amounted to just four small ribs for $24. The kale was utterly bland, lacking even a bit of salt. I?ve been coming to this place for a while. Last two times have been complete trash. Honestly this place has lost its touch in customer service, today topped it off. Called to confirm they were still taking orders at 6PM since they close at 7 on Sunday, and I?m driving 30mins just to pick up food from here. They said they were, so I went ahead and placed the order. I arrived and waited an extra 25 minutes after checking in to pick up the order under the name I placed it. I was in the mood for a chicken sandwich and this spot has been on my list for a while so decided to try. I called in my order with a nice lady. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich with the coleslaw on the side. When I arrived, parking was tough so parked illegally in front for a second. I walked in and one of the servers, not the female that took my order, asked in a very low tone if I was uber eats. I told her no I called in my order, and as I said that another lady came from the back with my order and said she just texted me. She handed me my order and I paid and left. Waited 30 minutes standing up for the completely wrong order. Ordered beef brisket platter and wing platter sauce on the side. While we are there we are told the chefs put the sauce on the chicken and it would take 10 minutes to fix. We had already been waiting long enough so we decided not worth the additional wait. Get home and i have beef ribs not brisket. I can't support incompetence at any level especially when charge top dollar. My husband and I were really excited about trying out this restaurant. People told us not to eat here, but we like to try things out for ourselves. After waiting 45 mins.. We were very disappointed ??. When I took my food out the bag this how my chicken was hanging out of the container. When I opened it, it had a huge onion sitting on top of my food. I opened what I thought was cornbread and it was a blueberry muffin with a small bug crawling in the wrapping ?. Gosh, I was routing for y?all!!
Today was not a great day for a meal. I'm not sure if they've changed chefs, but the food was far from good. The macaroni salad was overpowered by mayo – there was just too much of it. The French fries topped with shrimp and crab meat had an off-putting smell, and the shrimp was barely cooked. The only highlight was the salmon, which was actually decent. I really recommend tasting the food before serving it. Overall, I was quite unimpressed.
You get what you pay for, the food is pricey but it's worth every penny. My colleagues and I order from this place for lunch atleast twice within the past 30 days. The food is seasoned very nicely and it's cook with care to preserve taste and flavor. I personally recommend the street corn and the Mac and cheese. Bring your wallet but definitely try this out again it's worth it.
We've ordered from here countless times. We originally came for the Mexican street corn, but have since become addicted to everything else on the menu. My go-to main dish is the BBQ pulled chicken, and you really can't go wrong with any of the sides—believe me, I've tried almost all of them. Thank you, Kbs, for creating such delicious food! I ordered the salmon with veal and sweet potatoes Soufflé and blueberries Cornbread. Everything was cooked for perfection. Then a few days later I created my own veggie plated cole Slav, kale and sweet potato soufflé. Will bake for more.
