I will start this by apologizing for the length. This was probably our 6th time at this restaurant. The first 3 times the service, atmosphere and quality of food was exceptional. We eat out quite often and at all times...not just weekends or peak times and at all types of restaurants. I am not sure how a restaurant can go from exceptional to horrible in such a short time. The forth visit to this restaurant the service was still good but the quality of food was still there so we went back again. We have eaten here many times and pretty well have always had a good meal and service. But whatever was going on today it was just a horrible experience. We had a prior reservation but there was not many people in the restaurant besides us We arrived at 12:30 pm, table of 12, for a family lunch to celebrate our children's birthday. When we arrived. We were arrived we were greeted promptly and sat down. Waiter came and took our drink orders and appetizers orders. All the drinks were delivered in a span of 15 minutes a couple of drinks at a time along with the appetizers. We decided to give Kelsey's a second try after an absolutely horrific experience our first time there. The service was honestly the worst I've experienced in St. John's. I felt obligated to write this review. My son has a fish allergy and ordered the chicken burger with no BBQ sauce (as most sauces have Worcestershire). We informed our server several times of the allergy and when he received his food, it had the sauce. The server tried to convince us the BBQ sauce was "safe" and was irritated that we asked to see the allergy menu/speak with the manager or cook. We waited over 15 min and no one showed up. First experience with my family was not great. Service was slow and food was not great. That was shortly after they opened so we decided to give them a second try. My wife and I went after a movie around 8:00pm. The place was not quite deserted but only half a dozen tables. Again service was on the slow side although the waitress was very friendly. Food we ordered was only average. Wings had some sort of coating that was somewhat tough. My wife quite enjoyed her Messy Fish sandwich but nothing to write home about. Sorry Kelseys but there are better similarly priced restaurants with similar type recipes in St. John's that are far better and we will be selecting in future rather than Kelseys....

We had lunch at Kelsey's in the weekend. Our drinks were nothing special (I ordered a soda and while it sounded very fancy from the menu - infused with passion fruit and berries - it was a simple cream soda). I ordered a soup and when I saw only a plate I asked the server if it came with any bread. She suggested I ordered a side of garlic bread (they will give you a free piece of bread even at Tim Horton's...). We also ordered a pasta which was just ok.Will not go back.
Had a wonderful lunch in Kelseys. The atmosphere was very cold, not too loud as too many restaurants in the middle area. Our server Blaze was great and gave us excellent advice on choosing the skill of our steaks. We had wings to begin, and everyone had a steak for our meal. I had the balm mushroom Sirloin and it was one of the best steaks I had in some time! Very recommended!
its all about timing and the wait staff; Brad has to be the best server at this location! Had black bean chowder (excellent) and one of the new chicken specials. presentation could have been better as the grease on the plate was not what I ordered.tasted great after I patted grease down.again goes back to service...
Went there on a Thursday for bald price wings. Had that and a spinach dip, both were delicious and the service was great. Great place and great food for an affordable night out with friends or family.

The service was terrible. We waited an extremely long time to be seated, served and a longer time for our food to appear. The food was average, but highly over-priced. We will not be returning.
Great dinner with family. We had appys that were great. Spinach dip and wings. For dinner everything was delicious.
