The weather was horrible, rainy and overcast with intermittent lighting and thunder but overall what disappoints us was the quality and lack of flavor of the meal.The tomato/red pepper soup was almost tasteless and the salad was overflowing with red onion pieces.The chicken entree was juicy but bland, covered by an even even blander mushroom sauce. The vegetables were well cooked and tasty but the mashed potatoes were severely lacking any flavour as well. I never use salt at the table but in this case it was necessary to be able to even finish my meal. I have been on the afternoon cruise a few times with family and friends. We did not have a meal just drinks and snacks. It is a great way to see some of the lake, hear interesting stories about some of the lake residences and to just relax. Best to go in good weather to fully enjoy the scenery as you can sit outside on the top deck, in cooler or rainy weather you can sit inside but it is just not the same.
We took the sunset cruise and had dinner on board. Ate from the Captains table menu - soup, salad, main course and desert, Only 3 main courses. Food was very well done.The cruise itself was fantastic. Great scenery with a gorgeous sunset. Lots of commentary from the crew with many interesting local stories. A bit pricey but well worth the money.
Fun excursion on Lake of the Woods. It is a historical landmark in Kenora. I have gone on one of their Jamaican nights, so I cannot comment on their regular food, but the food that night was good. If, you are coming to Kenora and it is your first time. (not available in the winter). Please check online for their schedules. This is a must ! A very peaceful cruise to discover Lake of the Woods. It is gorgeous. You won't be disappointed. Meals served on board.
Enjoyed the great views during a tour of the Lake of the Woods in Kenora and the local history provided by the guide. The buffet dinner onboard had plenty of choices. If you go through Kenora take the time to enjoy this boat trip.
Didn't get to go on it this time, but previous experience was that it is a do not miss tour of the Lake Of The Woods Kenora area with OK food and spectacular views and information to learn more about the area.

this is a real must at least once when you visit Kernora. it is worth it, great get away from everything... chose a nice warm day...
