Me, my partner and my 1 year old went here yesterday for dinner. We got there around 7.15pm and when looking from the outside you would not expect to find what is inside. The outside does not look so appealing and it looks pretty small so when we walked in we was pleased it was nice and open. Seating was not too bad and there was enough space between everyone (Covid regs) . We was seated quickily but not asked to sanitise our hands even though you would think in a restaurant they would ask you to do so (we did anyway). Recently, while at my mother's house, we decided to order a takeaway meal. We didn't want fast food and instead wanted something we could enjoy together in my mum's beautiful garden. My friend and I walked around the corner to a Turkish restaurant called Kervan Saray. We had eaten there before, but it had been a few years since my last visit just before I moved to the USA in 2017. The food was delicious and the service was attentive on our previous visit. Been coming here for years. Was always a busy place with a great atmosphere. Hands down was the best with friendly staff too. The last visit I was shocked that on a Friday night it was pretty much empty, the waiters were different. And the vibe we usually get wasn’t there. The food was still so good, we always get the platter and it was so fresh. On a birthday the whole restaurant would sing and join in. Yesterday we was told they don’t do birthdays anymore. Which in my opinion was what we associated the place with. The previous waiters and waitresses were much more friendly and welcoming.
Although they do great food I was not pleased on last two visits.My daughter likes her meat in one container and her rice in another or she won’t eat it.However when asked if they cater for food allergies they said yes but would not separate her food saying it would use an extra container. So on our next visit I took my own container but they still would not do it.Their reason is if they let me they will have to do it for everyone.I asked what the big deal was but they just said no. Outstanding food with amazing service. Turned up without any booking on Saturday and seated absolutely not problem. Attentive staff took care of our needs, without any delays. Even catered for two fussy children with a good kids menu and extras that allowed me and her to enjoy eating what we wanted for a change. Glasses never went empty, and despite a busy restaurant had a very quick wait while food was cooked to order. Very reasonable prices on top means I’ll definitely be back again very soon.
I came here on 13th April 2019 with a family of 8. Honestly, i did not have high expectations but it turned out to be one of the best restaurants ive been to. It has everything you would want, good hygiene, good service, good decor but mostly, good food. This is the best place for food and i reccomend it to anyone, i have nothing to complain about thats how good it is!! Shoutout to our waiter who made the evening even better with his amazing service and humour
Do not dine at Kervan Seray in Harold Hill unless you are okay with finding a hair in your meal during a pandemic, don't mind waiting three weeks for a call back from the manager, or are comfortable with being hung up on after calling the restaurant five times.
Wonderful food, excellent service, and affordable prices. You won't be disappointed as they cater to all tastes. On some nights, there is live dancing. The restaurant is easy to locate and we always find street parking nearby. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Total waste of time money. Some food were served Cold or slightly warm, ridiculous, Steak was the worst ever tasted. They don’t know the meaning of steak, casserole was disgusting.
