Be very careful if you are gluten free, some items on the menu state they are gluten free but they are not (ie. breadcrumbs on chicken schnitzel, barley in soup etc).Also, in purchasing a seniors meal I asked for vegetables instead of chips and salad and they charged an extra $2.00 for this. I queried it as you actually get the chips and salad as part of the meal, they remove those items if you prefer vegetables with the extra charge of $2.00....doesn't make sense to me.Overall the food isn't too bad however some meals are quite expensive and the size of their meals can vary at times.They currently have a shop a docket which allows you to purchase a second meal for $5.00. Whilst staying in the area for a sporting carnival we stopped past for dinner. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Service was good and fast. My teenager ordered two side orders for her main meal. A side salad and vegetables. Both serves were huge and couldn't be finished. We weren't permitted to take a doggy bag so it went to waste. My steak was a little tough and side dishes were huge. I did well to overeat it. My husbands chicken schnitzel was sadly a pre-made Panko crumbed thing. So it was like a giant chicken nugget, which was not great. An ok pub venue but not gourmet food. If we lived locally we would probably go again.
Myself and two other friends had a lunchtime gathering at the Keysborough hotel last Tuesday. The service was appalling! One lady was serving the entire restaurant and she was a sour, grumpy woman! One other woman at the bar with a similar sour look on her face.I asked our disgruntled waitress a question to which she mumbled a reply while walking away. I get it, they were busy; but there was no smile or courtesy afforded to the patrons. Keysborough hotel need to employ warmer, friendlier staff or train their current staff in better customer service!
Visited here for lunch in the sports bar. $18 rump steak, roast of the day & a $10 parma. There was no problem at all changing the sauce on the parma as my wife is allergic to garlic, so bbq sauce was substituted instead. All the meals were cooked perfectly. The steak & roast both had ample servings of vegetables.As always, the Keysborough Hotel is great value. Hence why all the tradies go there.
