Killen’s - Tisch reservieren

Babysitters, pardon this old cliche, but “I’ve died and gone to heaven” is all that I could think of. In this case, a slice of heaven was right here at Killen’s of The Heights Restaurant!! Today was my dear Mother’s X3rd birthday (she’s giving me the side eye thinking that I divulged her age and my crew of eight (consisting of friends and family rolled into Killen’s with thoughts of gluttony dancing in our famished heads. Although we made reservations, it wasn’t as busy and tumultuous as it can get on occasion. See, in the South, we love good southern cooking (kin folk, that’s just the inner loop folks way of saying “soul food” and we love to let everyone around us know how much we love it....

Parking can get full so if you’re lucky you’ll find a spot. We didn’t have to wait long for a table of 3. Service was good, we were taken care of. We ordered pork belly, mac and cheese, buttermilk fried half chicken, cornbread, and bbq plate 3 meat (brisket, sausage, and pork ribs). Everything on the 3 meat plate was delicious. 5/5. Brisket was moist and flavorful, ribs fell off the bone, and sausage was savory. Mac and cheese and cornbread 5/5. They were on point. Buttermilk fried half chicken was about ⅘. It was still pretty delectable but can get a little dry towards the center. Pork belly 5/5. Tender and juicy. Good use of seasoning. I would still recommend this place for good bbq. Price...

Every visit feels like coming home! Warmly welcomed and absolutely pampered in this Killen's restaurant in the Heights. We've enjoyed dinners and lunches. This was our first time for Sunday brunch and it was terrific. Chef Ulises checks with diners who enjoy his creative talents. The off the menu pork chop was huge and so juicy. Shrimp and grits, chicken fried steak eggs with biscuits, hashbrowns and gravy ... collard greens, pork belly on the bone, fried green tomatoes, sliced brisket and dessert! Yes .. it was a lot of food and the portions are large and we left with GREAT leftovers! Can't wait to enjoy them!

My five stars in every category is no joke. Some of the best Mac and cheese I 've ever had! That in combo with the fried chicken. I 'm between I could die happy and I need a nap . The definition of southern comfort food. Simply fantastic! Keep up the quality, it 's very much worth the cost.

The food was delicious but I was more impressed with the service. Devaughn was an absolutely wonderful server! He was incredibly attentive but not overbearing. I would love to give more than 5 stars for his service. Thank you Devaughn for a delightful experience!

I was slightly dissapointed. I ordered the sliced beef w/ grilled cheese sandwich. It was a bit hefty on price for one at about $25 a person for a sandwich and a side that I split with someone else. The sandwich was a bit heavy so it took time to settle.

Had an excellent time. The bar is well stocked and boasts a solid whiskey and bourbon selection. The deviled eggs and chicken fried chicken were both incredible. We also had the burnt ends which were just okay, but all the drinks were delicious.

First time in and the service was awesome!! Sat at the bar and the bar tender was friendly and answered all our questions. BBQ was amazing!! The sides were on point! Definitely recommend checking Killen’s out.

Omg .. This was the best tasting bbq and fried chicken so far .. The beans 100 The sausage 100 The Ribs 100 Mac and cheese 100 The bbq sauce 100 Service 100 Fried chicken did I say

The beef short ribs are phenomenal. Highly recommended. Plus is a huge portion! Goes great with their coffee bbq sauce.
