After a wonderful afternoon walking about Jean Talon Market, I was treated to an EIGHT COURSE special Surf'n'Turf menu at Kitchen Galerie, with wine pairings for each course and a welcome glass of bubbly. This cosy 22-seater Bistro, also offers diners to chance to sit at the bar, which I did and where I was able to chat, laugh and joke with the chefs, Matthieu Cloutier and Mathieu Bourdages, whilst watching them cook my (and other guests) meals. The sommelier, Gabriel Gallant, was extremely professional and friendly and kept me well topped up with wine throughout the evening. We are foodies and are in restaurants 2-3 times per week. We prioritize service and food and are not into the "trendy" scene in restaurants. Kitchen Gallerie is simply excellent. Their small but delicious menu is great. Have never had anything on their menu we did not love: the rib of beef, the cheeks, porc ribs were all great. This week, we figured we would try the steak. We were not sure because we thought it may not be their speciality and steak is better at a steakhouse. Boy were we wrong. The steak fur 2 was simply delicious. Cooked to perfection, melts in your mouth, and even the vegetables and fries (we replaced the mashed potatoes with fries) were perfect. Their drinks are also aweso...
I discovered this restaurant on a website post that lists '11 Montreal Restaurants You Must Try If You’re A Couple Visiting The City For The 1st Time'. It was a rave review, so we went with family, and were not disappointed. The place is fun and energetic with an open kitchen, the service is terrific, and the food!!!! This isn't a cheap restaurant, but the quality and creativity is exceptional so you will leave feeling satiated and elated. Definitely try the foie gras, and the beef short rib was to die for (the chefs told me that they cook it for 18 hours). I'd very strongly recommend this place.
Was in Montreal for Rogers Cup Tennis at nearby Stade Uniprix. Galerie had Rogers Cup special prix fixe menu at very reasonable sub $20 price, and food was excellent. Had warm calamari salad appetizer and Bouef Bavette (some say it's flank steak in English, some say it's skirt, looked to me more like skirt steak) with sauce Estragon (tarragon). Perfectly cooked and delicious sauce, great frites. And terrific baguette for bread, incredible meal at any price. We went there for my birthday last week and had an amazing time. The wait staff were all very attentive and the food was beyond amazing. We had the tasting menu and could not have been happier with the choices the chef made for us. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who was looking for a great experience.
5 stars-- a must for any trip to Montreal. The staff was friendly, the chef came by to explain every dish. It was worth every penny. Tip: ask for a specialized menu based on your own price range. My husband and I did $60CADpp and had a 5 course meal that was simply unforgettable.
Food was amazing. I had the lamb special which was amazing and my friends had the pork ribs. Service is excellent and the flavours in the food were out of this world.

Action packed restaurant, excellent menu with an attentive and helpful staff. We completely enjoyed our meals. A perfect evening.
