I've visited this restaurant on several occasions since it opened, and I have to say I’m impressed. The first 90 days are often the toughest for any establishment, and like any restaurant, the staff will become more knowledgeable over time. Patience is essential during this period. However, I hold the kitchen staff to a higher standard. “Great drinks keep the energy up, but delicious food is what brings people back.” They don't have a bar yet, and I’m a regular bar-goer. It pains me to say this, especially since we supported this restaurant with bi-weekly curbside pick-up during COVID and really wanted to be understanding during tough times. However, I've noticed a significant decline in quality over the past year. They often get our orders wrong, the food is frequently dry, and the pick-up times are inconsistent. In the last two or three take-out experiences, I've arrived on time only to find that they had either lost my order or hadn't even started making it. I’m willing to give them a chance to regroup and improve, but they need to act quickly!
Currently having their soft opening. Therefore, I was very tolerant of issues. Sushi was great. Service was great. Atmosphere is wonderful. I ordered the chicken teriyaki. It had a great taste but you could tell they used a lot of butter to saute the chicken. Also, the portion of chicken in the chicken teriyaki was very, very small. I complained to the manager and they added some chicken but still a very small portion as compared to other asian restaurants I've been to. Overall, a good experience considering. Hoping they improve because GP needs another sushi restaurant.
The sushi here is really good, and it's the best place I've found that doesn't require a 30-minute drive from far East Detroit or Grosse Pointe for convenient takeout. I really wish they would reopen for lunch, as I'm always craving sushi during that time. Sat down at the bar today, absolutely wonderful experience. Staff is friendly and seems very happy to be there. Clean and nicely decorated. Tried a few different sushi rolls and egg drop soup. The rolls were very good and ingredients were fresh. The egg drop had a surprisingly different flavor that is my new favorite.
This was the best first-time experience I've ever had at a restaurant. From the delicious appetizers to the incredible sushi presentation and the enticing sake, everything was fantastic! The atmosphere was great, my waitress was exceptional, and I definitely plan to return as a regular customer!
Absolutely excellent! Food was incredibly delicious and fresh, the experience was very professional presentation and also super laid back at-home atmosphere. Cant wait to come back.
