Busy and nearly full of Asian people = a great sign of fa lupus good . Seriously the best steamed dim sims, and great curry puffs . I had a main course of lime prawns. I seriously could have had just the entree size of 4 prawns. Sizzle plate that friend had smelt delicious and by watching her lick the sauce off the plate , I dare say it tasted as good as it smelt. Only down side is that it closes so early (9pm on a Thursday ) and they started by turning the heater off, dimming the lights and then giving us the bill rather eagerly. A bit better customer service would make thus place even better.
Hands down Kotajaya offers the best lunch menu in this side of town..The food is consistently good, fresh and exceptionally good value for money..I also love their a la carte menu which is very tasty and very well priced..I have tried a variety of items on their menu and would highly recommend curry laksa, ginger spring onion chicken, combination crispy noodles, sizzling chilli fish, salt and pepper chicken and coconut chicken..the service is friendly, quick and efficient and the staff never fail to impress even in extremely busy hours..this is my go to place for weekend lunch..
We ordered four dishes: rockling fillet with basil- only 6 few small pieces for $16. 6-8 small pieces of curry chicken for $15, sambal kangkong $17.90, ginger beef $15. Small serve of ordinary Malaysian food- full of sauces. My children like them, but I just ate the vegetables. I give them 4/5 for efficiency, 3/5 for flavour, 2/5 for health conscious, 3/5 for presentation, sauce driven rather than skills 5/5. However, 8/10 of the restaurants are like this! So much for eating out!!
1st time dining here. A busy restaurant, (which is always a good sign) fast paced, quite noisy. You wouldn't come for a quiet dinner, however we found the staff friendly and very attentive. The menu is mostly Chinese/Thai style with a nonya Malay feel. I had the Nasi leak special which was very good and quite traditional as far as Malay food goes. Very tasty Asian food. The service was lovely. I gave a 4 because of a few things, The kitchen is covered by what looks like a shower curtain(?). Decoration is put up with visible sticky tape. Signs on whiteboards are confusing at the front counter. Otherwise based on food and service it would be a 5. The employees are lovely
Prices of food are reasonable and service is good. Due to other competitions available near its neighborhood, ( Kingsway, The Glen, the quality and authenticity of their selections have been " reduced" ! Still acceptable for an ordinary day/night dining out.7 out of 10 in my opinion.
Six of us shared a number Saturday lunch specials. The won ton soup, fish soup and Hainan chicken were exceptionally good. A rice noodle and seafood medley totally authentic. Embarrassingly cheap.

Enjoyed our self, we ordered Malaysia curry chicken, Roti, satay , eggplant clay pot, pork ribs , kang kong , and fried keow teow and sizzling pork. Well recommended
