Reasonably enjoyable experience and meal here. Very much trying to be considered a high-end restaurant with prices to match. We attempted to make a reservation when we arrived but when the front desk phoned up to the staff, we were informed that the earliest available...time was 7:30. This is later than our usual preference for dinner timing so we passed. Even though we were told the options in the area during our time there were limited. We were extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant and ultimately left before being served. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we were ignored while all the other tables around us were served. The menu was limited and not very vegetarian-friendly, which was a problem as one of our party members was vegetarian and had questions about the available options. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the building. It has a good view of the lake. But that's all the good things that can be said. We had dinner and breakfast there in early May. The mix of flavors in the food were incredible. The fresh vegetables and fruits make the dishes unique and tasty. Everything had wonderful spices which complimented each other perfectly. The medium rare duck was very tender and the reduction sauce was very flavorful. The cheese...cake dessert with the fresh blueberries was spot on with both cow and goat cheeses. Though the menu isn’t extensive there was lots of variety and everything was prepared using classic cooking techniques. I had what I thought was going to be a simple Grilled Chicken and Quinoa Salad with baby Kale.... but it was so much more. So many...pops of flavour, the presentation was outstanding. My salad included chopped nuts and seeds, dried fruit, goat cheese, a very good quality olive oil dressing and a perfectly seasoned chicken breast. No complaints. And dessert.... Cinnamon Creme Brûlée to die for. Truly outstanding.
I have dined at this restaurant before, but nothing could have prepared me for the incredible experience I had tonight. The fish and chips were out of this world and have set a new standard for me, the wings were amazing, and the cheesecake was excellent.
