I had heard from friends that Kupel's is one of the very few kosher restaurants in Boston, so I was looking forward to trying their offerings. The bakery was bustling around lunch time on a Sunday. The menu is quite fun each sandwich is an MBTA stop name colored as its respective MBTA line. But, as I experienced, perhaps the fun naming scheme leads to mixups in making the orders. I ordered the Hynes, which is supposed to have egg salad, lox, tomato, and onion. I ended up having tuna salad in my bagel sandwich instead. The tuna salad was pretty unremarkable. What a gem of a place! I had to go to Brookline for an MRI and I had never been there before. Kupel’s caught my eye as I was driving by and I had to go check it out. I got an egg and cheese bagel and a blueberry muffin to try and, wowzers, they were absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and fast in service and I can’t wait to go back again!
Every time I go to Kupel's, it reminds me of my Grandma. From Brooklyn, my kosher Grams took her babka and noshes seriously and Kupels was a favorite. My daughter loves their lox, and if you've never tried a pumpernickel bagel with lox and schmear, you've missed out! Thanks for the always spot on bagels and babka, Kupels!
I used to work nearby and come here every day for a bagel sandwich for lunch. Their bagels are some of the best outside of NY. They also have yummy baked goods, and I would always check for their 50% off bagged items. They go quickly! Not a ton of parking in this area though : . Fully accessible.
