As per a reccomendation from a friend, I went to La Bamba Cafe in Saskatoon which was truly an authentic Mexican restaurant! I loved the decor, ambience and overall small cafe like feel to it! Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! I went with the beef nachos, enchiladas, flautas and a Mexican like version of a creme brulee for dessert! Everything was so fresh, delicious and made in house! The tortilla chips were homemade and tasted excellent! For me, the winner was the enchiladas which I ordered with the chocolate mole sauce! Family owned authentic Mexican restaurant. A great find as most Mexican in Saskatchewan is americanized. They have complimentary homemade chips and salsa to start you off and you don't have to wait long for the food. I would love to see their menu expand to include tamales or empanadas. Dietary restrictions: They offer many gluten free options for those with celiac disease. I don’t dine in here but I always order it on skip and it’s my favorite Mexican food I’m obsessed. the servings are a perfect amount to fill me up (20f) and finish the whole thing without wasting any. We ate in it was our first time here the food definitely wasn't fresh as we received our food 5 minutes after ordering. We all got chicken and it tasted like tin chicken. For this reason alone it wouldn't be for me if I'm paying for food in a restaurant I don't want to be eating canned chicken. The restaurant itself looked ok just stacks of boxes maybe we came on a delivery day. Definitely one of the more authentic of any Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant in town. Service was good, staff were friendly. I ordered the flautas and nachos, both were excellent. I was surprised with the high quality of the complimentary chips and salsa. As with any good Mexican place, they use cilantro liberally but tastefully. I'm hoping to head there again soon!
Our first time in was a fantastic experience. There was no need for over the top, fancy service the food spoke for itself. Our server made us feel comfortable with the menu choices, the plates were delicious and the whole place had a casual 'family kitchen ' vibe to it. 10/10 would go again.
Had a craving for Mexican food and our meal satisfied it. Large portion and it was delivered fast and fresh. Support local as they need help during the lockdown. We had Flautas and Quesadillas and got the yummy chips and guacamole.

It is so hard to make traveling food look good! Absolutely delicious and beautifully packaged too. the little chip in the refried beams was delightful.
