La Barbote - Microbrasserie

Brilliant and genuine brewpub near Gare St Roch. All the beer's brewed on the premises and the range is excellent and interesting not just copies of the American craft beers. Sensei Miso is a witbier but doesn't have the slightly musty flavour of most...wits, Smashup is a standard but very tasty single hop (almost) session beer and the sour framboise is one of the most refreshing beers I've tried fantastic on a hot day. The barley wine, only sold in smaller measures, is a rich, almost sherry like drink that, although not to my usual taste, really was worth a try. Habituée de cette microbrasserie où les bières sont bien travaillées et l'ambiance sympa. Plutôt déçue ce soir car nous avons du partir tellement épuisées de devoir crier pour s'entendre. Il y avait beaucoup de monde pour un mardi soir mais j'ai signalé que la musique etait trop forte, il aurait été agréable que celle ci soit coupée pour devoir couvrir uniquement le brouhaha des gens déjà suffisamment important. You don't go to La Barbote for the food, which is really not bad, but for the beer which is fantastic, the atmosphere is so good, great music and from time to time there are very interesting activities downstairs like the pint of science in May, a highly recommended site Price per person: €10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
