It is difficult to eat badly in uzès. We took four more meals this week. The others were good, but lunch at the boca will remain in the memories. It is not good food, it is a small street coffee, with some tables also inside, but the food was very good and clearly prepared by an imaginative and capable chef. It's a small menu. I had an excellent smoky salmon on a bed of a tidy salad of rosy leeks and yellow zucchini sprinkled with pink grapefruit. Our first time was to celebrate our 50th birthday. then we were sitting inside (we didn't even know about the patio) by a very effective young woman who understood that we were not speaking French and that her English was limited but we would try. My wife ordered a calf dish and I got the fish. My wife shared her calf and snails and the young woman noticed that my fish was barely eaten. . . the boca and both got the calf. boca is one of the best restaurants in Uzès. a delicious cuisine that perfectly balances creativity and familiarity. the menu changes every day, usually with only two choices each for entry, main dish and dessert. it's easy for couples - just order one of everything so you can discover all the flavors. It is a small operation, just the chief, a waitress, a handful of tables in the courtyard and 2 or 3 tables inside. for this reason, and because of its reputation, I strongly suggest to make reservations. the first two times we tried to enter, we were repressed and we were in town during the low season. but go. It's one of the restaurants I would call it uncontournable in uzès.
a small restaurant nestled away from the main cafes and restaurants of the grass square. a choice of 2 dishes in the evenings when we went there a beef or fish night and the second fish or pork. the dishes were served with an excellent choice of nicely cooked and presented local vegetables and rich dishes. the selection was also excellent, including musk pumpkin gaspacho. the apple and lead crumble desert is also excellent. the service was excellent, the food was essentially prepared in front of you if you eat inside and the very reasonable prices. it is a small simple place with seats inside and outside. it faces the south and is a very sunny spot at lunch time. the map is short but interesting and the young chief works in the same room as the guests. There was lively salsa music the day we ate there, which gave a very charming atmosphere. food was inventive and had a very fresh taste. We had shrimp with risotto. the wines with glass were of good value for money. Good coffee. very friendly attentive service. highly recommended
we walked in this beautiful city of Uzès before a visit to St Remy and a hike to the baux. it was very windy and a little fresh when we fell on this charming and tiny vegetarian restaurant of 6 tables located on a quiet place behind the busy main street. service and food were excellent and freshly prepared and also very reasonable. Great place for a light lunch for everyone. large choice of local organic beers and other ecological foods. The wine pichet was great too!
We were recommended this small place by our hosts at the red house of Uzès and we were not disappointed. wanting to follow our recommendation, we just stopped a little time for an aperitif before our main meal elsewhere. servers were very friendly, the good wine and the tapas were perfect. the decoration is neat in the slightest detail, which creates a pleasant atmosphere, as well as the location in a quiet little street of the old town ofuzès.
