La Bou Bakery Cafe... I am told that LaBou is short for La Boutique Boulangerie of a special person in my life who lived in Sacramento all her life, that I am completely familiar with my life. This same person led me to La Bou many years ago. There was one in Roseville (Main St. Baseline Rd) many years ago that has been going through many shops and not really solidified. I have been a fan of LA Bou since they first opened. Today, I stopped by for a baguette and dill sauce. However, when I got home and checked the bag, I found a sliced loaf of French bread, the kind that's quite large. Baguettes are supposed to be smaller with a harder crust. They had the baguettes in the store, but none in the prepared bags. I'm really disappointed.
This is by far the worst La Bou location I’ve ever visited! I ordered a $13 Chinese chicken salad and was disappointed to receive just some lettuce with a quarter of a chicken breast carelessly placed on top, a greasy dressing, and a tiny cup with only six peanuts in it! I definitely won't be returning.
KUDOS to La Bou, as there is still a large neighbourhood café, despite the growth of larger chains around them. Updating review during the pandemic: FEB 25, 2021... I was asked to get the Ham Croissants to satisfy a desire for my honey. I haven't been here for two years.

I eat here all the time and must say I am extremely disappointed with the service.
They get one out of three orders wrong consistently.
