La Cabane du Fier - Tisch reservieren

We have been fortunate to be able to travel to France many times, so we have a good idea of what to expect from a restaurant there. After being seated at La Cabane du Fier we waited for 10 minutes to be acknowledged, then decided...we would have to ask to have service! We requested wine and a carafe of tap water. The water came in a formerly used bottle, often the custom. I took a sip from my glass, my husband had a full glass before we noticed that there were dirty specks floating around in the bottom of the clear glass bottle. a few years ago we spent 3 or 4 days on ile de re, where we tried a series of recommended restaurants. la cabane du fier was one of them, where we grilled lobster with lemon just picked up her tree on veranda. with a large white burgunder washed off. as the lock has been loosened and double vaccinated, we decide to have a short trip to ile de re and try it the same dish as before. it was the same, including the wein. we loved it and will probably go back. sounds boring, but why not always qualitatiw high quality food.

We happened upon this restaurant by chance and we're so glad we did! The unassuming exterior opens out into a charming interior with a terrace overlooking the salt marshes. Casual atmosphere, excellent food and service. We shared a seafood rillettes to start beautifully flavourful... while waiting for our lobster. A decent sized lobster grilled over a wood fire and served on a delicious fennel and cream sauce with Ile de Ré potatoes washed down with a lovely crisp Muscadet. Absolute heaven!

Wow, what can I say. We came for our end of holiday meal having passed this place almost every day on our way to Ars en Re. With two young girls it’s hard to please but this was really good French food at its best....We would recommend the fish especially the tuna or Sea Bass. If you are round this part of the island I would recommend this totally. A must for us next year and we won’t be leaving it to our last night this time.

Visiting Il de Re is one of the charming places on the planet off season. I would not want to be there in high season. So this restaurant was a pleasure. The seafood exceptional. Bouillabase and Lobsters, Rose wine, some light deset and back in...our car to town. Casual, Fun, View of the water. Romantic and did I say the food was wonderful? Oysters, Seafood, Fish, Fish Soup, Lobsters oh my! Don't miss this.

Just back from a week on the Ile de Re; La Cabane du Fier was easily the stand out restaurant. Brilliant, relaxed, cool front of house, simple but superb menu and as you would expect a fantastic wine list. Moules in a mild curry sauce...simply outstanding steamed Turbot off the charts, Puilly Fume de Tracy the perfect accompaniment

we can get here as it was good reviews and was close to our hotel. although very busy eating and service were excellent. I had sardines smoked as an appetizer, followed by a beautiful seabass, while my wife had a nice boiled piece tuna....Probable our best meal on the isle de re

Second trip to Île de Ré and this restaurant remains our favourite by far- delicious food, wonderful setting and helpful and welcoming staff. Expensive but worth every penny.

simply amazing meal. the assiette de la mer (mixed seafood cupboard) was delicious, and the brot was perfect.
