We were recommended this place from the guy whose lake we're fishing at nearby and boy was it a top tip. We all raved about our lunch and the locally produced beer and cola we had with it. Friendly staff and customers, prompt service and...delicious food. We had between us the duck leg, pork filet mignon and a huge Veggie salad, it wasn't cheap but well worth it, and a vast selection of other tasty sounding dishes. Perfect location outside looking up at the impressive Citadelle.
Only high praise for this restaurant which serves food very much in the French tradition. Relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, a well-chosen range of dishes on the chalk boards and effective service are the foundations on which La Citadelle has added wonderfully well-prepared food .. and...with generous portions as well. Clearly an establishment that is in gear and confident that it can live up to its high standards.
Dîner entre amis le 27 décembre dernier. Accueil très sympathique par l'équipe et le patron. Les viandes étaient particulièrement savoureuses (araignée de boeuf pour ma part) et le conseil du patron pour le vin bien senti. Mon déssert, la brioche façon crème brûlée, était particulièrement rafraîchissant pour une fin de repas. Je recommande.
L 'intérieur est fantastique. La cuisine est divine. La serveuse souriante. Le patron très drôle. Bref, on a passé un superbe moment et on a vraiment bien mangé. Le seul petit bémol (mais vraiment tout petit), la salle étant petite, si il y a un groupe avec des voix qui portent on ne s 'entend plus. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Nous avions réservé une table avec des amis pour fêter mon anniversaire... Quand soudain Frank Dubosc est arrivé discrètement avec son équipe pour déjeuner !!! Que dire sinon que son choix de restaurant comme le nôtre, nous a ravis !!!

This restaurant never fails to deliver. It's next to the citadel in Parthenay and offers lovely seating. They always have a very varied menu with many choices for starters, main course and dessert
