My wife and I have dinner at this restaurant about once or twice a month, usually on a Thursday or a Friday. I have nothing but positives to say about the food, the service, the staff and the owners. It is the most consistent restaurant I 've been to, and if it wasn 't so hard to find a baby sitter we would be there every weekend. Dined here last night, a busy Friday. No booking, walked up and down the Gymea strip, decided on La Cucina as it was the busiest. Staff were accommodating, settled into our table immediately. Ordered the Arancini balls and calamarie for entree (both delicious) and the seafood hot pot and ricotta gnocchi with lamb shoulder for main. Had a couple of Italian cocktails to begin, then a glass of Chianti. The restaurant was busy, it was a little noisy but nothing you wouldn't expect from a busy restaurant. We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday with her family at this restaurant last September on a Thursday night with a party of 8. I am quite surprised by the negative reviews because I thought the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and we all had a really enjoyable evening. The salt and pepper squid was especially memorable, as it was the most tender I have ever had. Everyone at the table ordered different dishes and all were enjoyable. Even though I am not a coffee aficionado, I can say that the coffee was also quite good as I would have remembered if it were bad.
I have been a loyal customer for more than 4 years. This restaurant's success is built on consistently delicious food. It is always busy and can be hard to get a reservation. My favorite dish is the steak. It may be a bit predictable, but it is always cooked perfectly to my liking (medium rare). The service is quick, especially when we go early, although I have heard it can be slow during peak hours. The restaurant can be noisy and could benefit from some acoustic treatment.

This small restaurant is definitely one of my favorites. The food is absolutely delicious. I have a few go-to dishes on the regular menu, but I always look forward to the new and exciting options on the specials board. The service is always friendly, even though the restaurant is always bustling. Be sure to make a reservation or you might not get a table! The restaurant is spacious and open, and while it can get a bit noisy, it only adds to the authentic Italian atmosphere.
Every time I come to this restaurant it feels like eating at a friends house. Friendly and welcoming staff, delicious and well priced food, a warm and inviting decor. I've never found the food to be served slowly, as in some other reviews, but then again if I wanted my food reheated in a microwave and served in 5 minutes I would go to McDonalds. Always a popular restaurant and rightly so, my family and friends will continue to meet at La Cucina Gymea. Great coffee too!
Only just rated a like. I had the steak which was cooked to order, tender and well seasoned. Affogato for dessert was average. The service was also just ok. The room however is very noisey after the recent renovations, so much so the waiters complained about it. I would return but on a week night when it would probably be quieter.
I had dinner there the other night and I love going here every few weeks. This is one of the only restaurants I've put a review up for as I genuinely believe these guys do a first class job. The food is always top quality, the service is fantastic, and the owners are always lovely to me and my family. Best tiramisu in the shire!!

Great food, service was friendly but ever so slow. Over an hour between bread and main course. About two servers for a room of 50, way understaffed!
Came for dinner food was excellent. Staff are nice and helpful. Restaurant was inviting. Best restaurant in gymea will be back for sure
