The cave was fascinating with a tragic back story and well informed guide. As we don't speak Italian and his English was limited, we took advantage of the free audioguides. When you have completed the tour, drive up to the village (it's a full two km and all uphill) and park in one of the two clearly marked car parks then follow signs on the right to reach Bar Tabacchi Ciasco Luigi. If you are offered some of Luigi's home made pie, say yes. Fresh, fabulous and great value. Luigi will set you on the correct path to a circular tour of this lovely hill village
We went for a celebratory meal after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. The starter for 4 we had (9 different cold dishes, bread plus the anchovies and the aubergine stuffed with cheese) were exceptional and the highlight. The lamb kebabs which followed were also great. We didn't have room for their wonderful deserts so took some home with us. A 5 star evening thank you
It’s difficult to communicate with the employees. No one speak English and if it’s first time eating that type of food, good luck! Passing that difficulty the food is very good and worth trying.
