La Guinguette de l'ile du Martin Pecheur

I write in English to give my opinion to oversea people, I am French and travel a lot. You need a car (there is a large parking on the other side of the street at yards upstream) to go to this retro atmosphere restaurant-dancing...as there were at the begining of the Twentieth century, they are the guinguettes du bord de Marne' (open-air cafe and dance hall on the river side of the Marne). There are nomore rowing boats to cross the small river branch, but a footbridge also converted for disable person (I was with a friend lady in a wheelchair,the staff helped us as soon as they saw us and used the wheelchair elevator to go down to the restaurant). my daugher and I visited paris a week. one of our long-term French friends invited us to visit them in st maur des fossess, one of the suburbs of paris. when we got home. they said they would bring us to a non-tourist place to dinner. After a short drive from st. maur we arrived at the restaurant and parked on the parking opposite from the restaurant. we had to cross over a covered road that included a small side of the Marne River. the restaurant itself is on the marne. this place is especially wonderful at a weekend (with live music) on a sunny day! beautiful to sit in the garden with a drink. I would rather go for drinks instead of eating, because there are many ways to drink and it is. a good mood for apéro. eating is also quite good, but Champigny-sur-Marne and Saint-Maur have many options for a good dinner.

loved it. by us visited the personal had geduld the saints with us. what an experience! an hour lunch drink is included in cost, like the musicians. dance free. please visit them when they are in champigny. they will not be disappointed.
