Full Disclosure: we live in Monpazier 20 minutes from the restaurant and visit La Guinguette du pont de Vicq regularly. As a result, I can attest to the number of great meals we have enjoyed there on the banks of the Dordogne River. The setting...on the Dordogne River is beautiful and Mr and Mrs Zamperni are terriffic hosts and very patient with our French. The meals are freshly prepared and very tasty. We learned on our visit today that there is a spacious and well equiped wifi TV barbeque etc apartment suite, two bed rooms, living room and a private garden available for rent. It is adjacent to the restaurant and thus with the same great setting on the banks of the Dordogne River. A perfect...
we visited here a few times twice this year and once on 3rd august 2019. it is a fabulous flow and we go to the beach there a lot. I admit the last Saturday was busy, but the service was always slow. I mean, 20...mins before ordering a drink and an hour plus before they are very simple salat and croque monsieur lunch is a bit much! family run, but seems they are too tight to rent additional help for the summer and can not handle alone. Eating is quite boring, menu uninitiated and too expensive, and we always feel like we're getting them out. they were there 40 years obviously, but certainly not enjoying anymore. a little “Fawlty Towers”. such a scandal because the situation is idyllic.
in previous reviews I have the restaurant as a magnificent place at the ufer of the dordogne river, it remains so. the food is freshly prepared a la maison and is very tasty. I love the frits! best in the region. my wife enjoys. the salad bergere and I l’hamburger de la maison. frites partout. m. et mme. zamperini are very congenial hostess and remain patient with our sustaining franzosen. the beach in front of the restaraunt is partially shaded. drinks ice cream etc. are from the restaurant and lunch dinner when ready to move from the beach a perfect day along the dordogne.
Restaurant advertises that it's open until 22.00 every day. Situated beside the river Dordogne next to the pont de vicq, very close to the pont de vicq campsite I used. Had a snack at lunchtime, burger and fries, nice snack and no too pricey, staff...were friendly and attentive, not too difficult as I was the only customer! I assume if the weather was better it would have been busy, also had an excellent evening meal there, had a steak which was good, and some acceptable wine.

Very quaint restaurant at the river crossing. owners are proud of there food and, especially, their home-made desserts. Looks like it could be very busy in tourist season, with canoeing, a nearby campground, and an outside ice cream stand, but off-season, very pleasant and relaxing. the owner has taken the entire lot and built the houses and buildings himself - a lot of local pride here.
this reastraunt is next to the campsite and the river, a nice setting to have lunch. service was good, food was really nice, although no chose for a vegitarian not even fish so the wife had to settle for a plain omlette and chips, my...duck on the other hand was great. drinks at an average price.

Shocking welcome by the owner. Shouted at the children for picking a different ice cream and was rude about us trying to order different types of coffee. We left without consuming. This man should not work in the service industry. One of the worst places in Dordogne, if not the worst.

beautiful surprise. family restaurant. homemade dishes, very tasty. restaurant next to the river, very beautiful view.
I am only twelve but I would stilll like to just say if you can avoid this restaurant if you can call it that do!!!
