Never have so many eaten so much for so little. Three of us ate at La Libertad tonight; for two of us it was the first time there. As such I ordered far more than I should have, in an effort to taste as many dishes as possible. Thank goodness for takeout boxes. A couple of things to be aware of: there are no fountain drinks so be prepared to pay for soda refills. (they come in either a can or a bottle). Tea is all you can drink. You can charge your meal but you can't add a tip to the charge slip so bring some cash to tip the servers--they're worth it! Between us we ordered three pupusas. I don't know how you say wow in Spanish but WOW!. My first time here and it was fantastic. The papusas was extraordinary and try all the sauses. The hot sause is really hot but really delicious. The plastlitos were good too. Like a fried corn pie with potatoe stuffing...yummy. If this is what the food is like in El Salvadore, then I have to go down there and eat. Wow it was good. Will be back soon, like in a couple days.
Yum! We went to lunch today and it was wonderful! Great service! We brought our two kids and the waitress was so sweet for them. She even brought us an apple and mango juice to try. YUM! The beans and rice were my daughter's favorite!! The Papusa were AWESOME! It is such a jewel in our city to have something different than the typical authentic Mexican food!
The best tamales I've ever had! The tamales are fantastic, and the pupusas are just right. Each time I visit, I see others enjoying beautifully presented dishes, but I can't resist ordering the tamales every time. They're simply too good to pass up. If you go, make sure to try something else too!

This is the only Salvadoran restaurant in Bham (that I know about anyways) very glad I tried it out the platanos con frijoles y crema are sooooo good!! Youve gotta get these. Also tried the zucchini cheese pupusas a little bland for my taste, will try the pork cheese next time.
The staff is always incredibly kind, and the pupusas here are just outstanding! I really enjoy the pickled cabbage and red sauce that accompany them; it adds an extra touch of magic. I definitely recommend the pork and cheese pupusa—it's my favorite!
In Pelham, AL, there aren't many great dining options, so I’m really glad I discovered this restaurant. The food is quite good, and the health rating of 99 is definitely a bonus! The picky cabbage is excellent as well.
The food was delicious! My husband and I really enjoyed our visits there. He loves the pupusas with chicharrón and cheese, as well as the cheese and bean pupusas. The Salvadoran breakfast is good too!

I really enjoyed this place. It was my first experience with Salvadoran cuisine, and it did not disappoint. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was friendly, and the food was fantastic.
