The food at this Mexican restaurant is average, nothing exceptional. The reason for the low star rating, which I believe is generous, is the inattentive and disinterested staff. Whenever I have called in to order food to go, I have had to wait at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. This happened even on a slow Wednesday night when there were more employees than customers in the restaurant. As someone who has worked in the food industry for years, I am appalled by the lack of care shown by the staff. If this restaurant wasn't so close to my home, I would not return.
This was our first time trying La Loma. We had a very friendly waitress. The margaritas were ok, a bit diluted for my liking but still tasty. The cheese dip was a bit spicy, which I enjoyed but was too much for my child. The salsa was delicious and chunky. Overall, the food and experience were average. The interior had a dimly lit ambiance, except for some booths next to the windows which were well lit. I consider Los Barrilles and Nachos my top two Mexican restaurants in town. La Loma would fall into my top five, just above Camino Real.
Located at 2650 St. Andrews in the Publix shopping plaza, this Mexican restaurant is a hidden gem in a city with many options. The portions and prices are great, and the food is deliciously presented. The 32oz mugs of ice-cold beer for $3.89 are a great deal. The atmosphere is charming and quieter than some other places nearby. The service is good, just a little slow but still satisfactory. I have visited three times in the past three weeks and the food, portions, and service have been consistently good.
The food is delicious, but I ordered the carnitas plate expecting a full plate of carnitas and only got 2 1/2 pieces along with a lot of beans and rice. For $14, it was not worth it and I will not be ordering that dish again. It was very misleading. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I ordered takeout from this restaurant and got a nachos plate and a grande burrito. The nachos were stale and had a rancid oil flavor. There was very little cheese on the nachos and the grilled chicken in the burrito...
I ordered the Pina Hawaiiana and despite it being a bit oily, the flavor was excellent. It was a pleasant surprise and truly enjoyable. It made my night, and my family also had a great experience dining here.
The food was terrible. Looks like they reheated all our food for too long. The chicken broth was not how it was advertised and our children could not eat due to how spicy it was. Not at all what I expected.

I ordered beef tacos, a chicken taco, and a tamale. The shredded chicken taco was tasty, but the shells were very stale. The chicken was well-seasoned.
