However, my only issue—though I dislike complaining—was that I waited over an hour to pick up my order. There was a single line for both placing new orders and picking up pre-orders, which was quite confusing. After nearly an hour, they changed the setup, and the line I had been in switched to the line for food orders, forcing me to move to the tamale line and putting me behind people who had arrived after me. This was particularly difficult for me due to my arthritis in both knees and joint pain in my feet, making it a real struggle. It felt very inconsiderate and unfair. Wow. Just wow. We had to rise early on a Saturday to get close to the front of the line for tamales, but it was absolutely worth it. Next time, we’ll be sure to pre-order well in advance. It's no surprise they come highly recommended by KOB viewers. The staff was incredibly friendly and engaging, too. I can only imagine the stress they experience during this busy season while fulfilling thousands of orders, but you'd never know it from their positive attitudes. We ended up taking home two dozen red pork tamales, half a gallon of posole (stew), chips, and salsa queso for our traditional New Mexican Christmas feast. I can't wait to return for our tamale fix!
Service and wait time is horrible! Got there before the lunch rush and only two other parties were there. We sat waiting and finally my friend went up to the counter to order but the girl behind the counter said she would come to our table. She came and asked if we were dining in and left to go work behind the counter!! Never took our drink order!! Now the lunch crowd starts to come in and we wait another 20 minutes to get waited on while they prepare call in orders and wait on people at the counter. Took almost 50 minutes in all to get our food while other people who ordered at the counter got their orders quicker
Very delicious food. I don't like a lot of restaurant tamales, but these are basically just like my family's but bigger. They make their own chips, taco shells and tostadas, along with flour and corn tortillas (yellow, white, blue). Tacos are similar to Perico's style (fried up to order). Food came out fresh and hot. I got a bottled soda that the lid was had been damaged slitely to where it made it flat. They quickly replaced it with an appology. Place is clean and food is authentic. Highly recommend!!!
We’ve been visiting this restaurant for two years, and the food is always fantastic! It has become a weekend ritual for us to enjoy breakfast here. Their breakfast sopapillas are delicious!
