Went for an early dinner Sat night with the family. The service was bad enough to make me write this review. The waiters and waitresses seemed unfamiliar with the concept of waiting tables. Our main dished were brought out before the appetizers. Irritatingly, each time food came to our table, we were asked if we had ordered that particular dish. With the food brought out, i was surprised that the servers did not provide any plates, cutlery or napkins. I guess these are things you need to specifically request. The beef noodle in soup dish had very little beef, although the noodles were tasty. The $13 seafood fried noodle dish was underwhelming in terms of variety and quantity of seafood. When...
Hubby and I happened across "La Noodle" when we set out for lunch at "Thi Fusion" at Kanata Centrum last week. Quite surprised to find Thi Fusion gone, we decided to try out its replacement and we were pleased. La Noodle has a lot of authentic Asian dishes on it's menu that you don't often see (at least in Kanata). Eg. Simmered pig feet, Stir fried pork intestine, Boiled blood curd and Beef tripe in spicy soup, etc. But don't let that intimidate you if you aren't up for trying that. They have a large menu with a lot more 'mainstream for Kanata' dishes as well. I chose the King Pao chicken with a side of rice. It is a HUGE serving. Hubby tried a bit and then we both had more as leftovers late...
This review is for the Kanata location. We went for lunch and then later dinner. Lots of authentic items to try on the menu. Overall food was good. After reading the reviews, we went prepared and double check with the waitress to make sure that she got the order correct. We went on a Fri night for dinner, the place was jam-packed. So do go early if you can. All went well for us, correct order arrived at reasonable time given the volume. The food tasted great. The chicken dish that we ordered was covered, no kidding, with those dried chilli peppers. Not sure why they put in so many, looked to be a bit of waste to me. We love spicy food, so we enjoyed our meal a lot. There are a good selection...
Went there twice first time they just open and second time a few months ago. The first was great, noodle tasted very chewy and the soup was delicious. But their door was broken and in wintertime it was freeze in the it...The second time was horrible, the server passing by our table keeps run into my chair which is super annoying when you try to enjoy your meal. That's not the worse point. When we received our noodles, the soup itself tastes like water, really, I can't even tell if they put salt in it or not. NO FLAVOR AT ALL. The noodle were really hard to bite and that's not suppose to be like that. I had eaten this kind of noodles in Lanzhou and what they are doing right now is ruining the... After reading the recent reviews in the Ottawa Citizen and other on line places we looked forward to a tasty bowl of food. The artistry of the noodle making is great but a real distraction from a mediocre broth and skimpy serving of beef and vegetables. In fact I counted 4 pieces of wafer thin veg in a salty broth. I went back on the Citizen website to see pictures and we got the lite version of whatever they got.$9.95 for 95% noodles was a real let down. Hope they can improve the quality of portions and provide some improved flavours otherwise we will not be returning any time soon.
We went to try the new location of La Noodle in the Kanata Centrum, near the Landmark cinemas. I think they are still trying to work out some issues in their operations. The place was very busy with a lunch time crowd, but the servers seems surprised and unprepared to handle the volume. As a result, all aspects of the service were very slow -- long time to order, long time to wait for food, wrong meals delivered, and long line up at the cash to pay.On the positive side, they do make their noodles fresh on site. But the meat was a little grisly.
My wife and I went twice together. First tme, very noise. Noodle was too big and sticky. I was disappointed. the meal was so so..The second time was really terrible..The dish was no taste, short of salt..The fish was not fresh, smelly. $21 fried fish was throw away. only took a few bites..We still tiped 15%, waiter and wetness were nice..Fool me twice, shame on me..Never ever go back again. Period.
Unfortunately for me and my spouse this was a downer!3$ for two slice of beef, wrong pasta, wrong bowl, no vegies or lack of. and 40$ for two no alcool! Never again, hear right, never again, pure and simple!!!!!We went there because the noodles were made fresh and by hand, something impossible or just magical! First time at this restaurant today, recommended by a friend and are happy we went.Very good noodles, hand pulled. You can see the chef preparing them. I had the beef and my wife the mushrooms and we loved the food. Medium size is actually big enough. We also had an appetizer spicy tofu and i was so good. Fast service and a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely we will go back.
