Atypical restaurant located in the middle of the Mennecy marsh, in summer there is a terrace on the lake side. The welcome is pleasant and there is a beautiful view of the Essonne. The starters are quality pheasant terrine with hazelnuts and onion confit, ravioli with melted leeks and goat cheese. The scallop tartare is also remarkable. We had a misunderstanding about the cooking of the tournedos Rossini, it was immediately redone and served as required, rare and very tasty. The kiwi pavlova is average but the coffee is excellent. The wine list is well balanced between the different grape varieties and our choice is a Pommard that is not too expensive and divine. It is certainly a very good...
Nice setting by the lake, but sadly food was average, and the sequence we experienced included: being told by a waitress that they were fully booked finding out they did actually have a table for 2 unpleasant reaction from the waiter when we couldn't explain with our minimal French that we wanted sparkling water rather than still waiting time for food was 45min. 1 hour+ altogether just for eating mains. my husband's steak was more cooked than he asked for and the salad that came with it was minimal and wilted. upon paying, we realized they'd added extra 10 euros to the bill. We pointed it it out and they immediately fixed it but without any explanation. We certainly won't be going back.
I really like this warm place because of its decoration and its location. I have known this place for 15 years, the food is good but not always up to my expectations, it is not always regular...that said it is difficult to find good, stable professionals in the kitchen. The reception is mixed, it depends on who you receive and the mood of the owner…
I was celebrating my wife's birthday in early September, we were about forty. From aperitif to desserts it was perfect. All the guests were happy. Excellent service, very helpful staff. The setting and beautiful if you love nature. I strongly recommend. Thank you to Mr. Lenoir and are a team.
