Expensive, and not the best Colombian food. I ordered some carne asada. It is supposed to be thin. Instead, it was a fat piece of meat that smelled and tasted old. They immediately exchanged it, so that's good service. The next piece they gave me was fresh, but it was undercooked for my liking. Didn't want to bother with it anymore. It's been a while since I've been back to Jackson Heights, but La Pequena Colombia is still a staple of delicious Colombian food in the heart of the neighborhood! I remember coming here when I was young, and it's amazing to see that the friendly service and great-tasting food are still the same. 5/5 stars! This place was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect the service to be so good, especially since many restaurants around Roosevelt Ave aren’t great. The lunch special was tasty, as was the quarter chicken—both dishes came with soup and generous portions. The maduros and beans were fantastic too. I’ll definitely return to try more dishes.
The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. My order arrived very quickly, was hot, and exactly as I requested. I will definitely return. Lorenza was my server, and I highly recommend asking for her. She was attentive without being overbearing—never hovering, but always easy to find when needed, and always with a smile. The food arrived quickly but was undercooked. They offered to reheat everything except the $37 skirt steak. Additionally, they added a 3% credit card surcharge. Save your money—there are plenty of other great options in this area.
This restaurant offers delicious, authentic Colombian cuisine and beverages. Their empanadas are full of flavor and the best you’ll find in town. The staff is friendly and well-informed.
