It is such a relaxed and magical place of the Dordogne. Real outside food, in a fspit and sawdust kouthy type of setting. Take Buzz Off for the bites, and you'll be okay. We thought the change of property would go well, but the manager is pretty insulting and the service slow and forget. Long waiting times and frequent memories (e.g. can we have cutlery, please? Thanks for the water, but could we drink glasses? We would have had an ice cream and coffee at the end of the meal, but we would wait for it. And the place wasn't busy. The food was simple and yet delicious, with good prices. The place could be amazing, but missed a few beats.
Stumbled across this place after the restaurant we planned to eat at was closed for the night. Recommended to us by some locals.We (2 people) didn't have a booking on a balmy Thursday night, but they squeezed us onto a large share table. We ended up having a laugh with the French couple dining beside us.Come for the ambiance (not necessarily the food)! There was a band playing on the roof of the bar. Our salads were simple, but satisfying. Everything else I saw come out was heavily fried. The wait staff were friendly and spoke English, the menu was in French.
We live nearby and every summer it is one of our highlights to go to La Plage. The environment is magical, the ambience is beautiful, the staff is so beautiful and we love the summer meal, the menu has something for everyone. We go... if there's live music, but this year we have a live dance band to the Sunday Lunch Dances. Now I want to go every week. I'm glad to go back next summer, thank you very much.
Quaint little restaurant with a cafe feel to it. Really relaxed vibe...looking out onto the river is just the tonic after a long day. Cuisine was simple, main course better than starters. Wine very affordable. So if you are looking for a cost effective eat in a great location La Plage is a grand choice.

If you looking for a very reasonably priced meal in a fantasticlocation this is the place. You eat outdoors, next to the river and under trees which are covered in fairy lights. For information, It is a seasonal restaurant, so only open from June to end of September.
The surrounding area next to the river is very relaxed and comfortable. Sometimes there is music to improve the ambience. However, food leaves much to be desired and makes it a high price. Far better choices nearby.
Chaotic service, terrible wine, the lamb was inedible, the French Fries were limp and soggy. You get one glass for the water and the wine. Please don't go!
Vrey basic manu , chips with everything but great place to chill. lovely vues of the river ……just don't expect much food wise. Pity really
