To be honest I'm very confused n surprised by some if not most of these comments, reviews and more importantly the rating that his restaurant has.
La Plaka is a restaurant that my husband, family and I visit quite frequently even if it's just for coffee. To see some of these embarks is disappointing and unfair. This has been my restaurant of choice since it opened back in 2012 when I was fist recommended this restaurant by a friend. La Plaka was one of my go-to restaurants in Burwood but my attitudes about it changed during my most recent visit.
I brought a group of 5 friends along (as I regularly do) because I highly recommended their lunch menu. However, when we sat down, we were not served for about 10 minutes despite our attempts at trying to get the attention of the waiters/waitresses. Eye contact was made several attempts yet ignorance was consistently followed by their exchanges. The restaurant was by no means busy and yet the staff consistently failed to deliver their services.

Brought a number of friends here in the past and service is usually on and off. This one night, ordering hot water with lemon and honey took 10-12mins (we timed it for fun to realise it was actually this long) every time as if they're farming the lemons out the back or something.
Staff were decent when you chat with them but bit of a wait. Will visit again in the hope it doesn't take this long as it's a nice eatery. Their foods are tops and tasty, also a section available specifically for shisha.

not evaluation is based on food, but customer service. they tried to order by eating, they accepted the order. for minutes we waited for the food, just to find out that they canceled the order without word why. I can understand that orders are cancelled after minutes without word, but is a sweat.
service was average, only ate the spinat and ricota ravioli and was honestly tasty as if I would drink cream and chew on nothing. my experience before tonight was great, but after a big turn, especially given the amount of money they pay. I'm sorry to say

First time at La Plaka, the waitress was friendly and helpful. Food was really good too. Would definitely eat there again.
