We chose this restaurant based on favorable reviews. This was by far the worst meal we have ever eaten. The owner professed to use only the freshest market ingredients, so much so that certain menu items were unavailable because he considered them unworthy of his...restaurant. My salad was entirely inedible. The greens were black and slimy and the tomatoes were pulpy and long past serving. The main course was palatable but not enough to make up for the earlier miss. From start to finish a very satisfying experience. We booked in person in the morning and found out the owner spoke very good English. When we arrived for the meal he kept apologising for his poor English which was far better than my non existent...French. I had the goats cheese salad which was delicious and the steak, Morceau de Boucher, for my main, both were absolutely excellent. We also had an amuse Bouche of chips, his little joke, which were tasters of Salmon, Pate and a Serrano type ham. All in all a truly satisfying experience. Did I mention the terrific wine and lovely Armagnac at the end. I will go back next time we are in Libourne.
At lunchtime we were just two diners, otherwise the place was empty, actually not a good sign. But then again, the whole city centre of Libourne was anything but a vibrant tourist hotspot. The daily menu for 13,50€ was just one starter and one main...course, without choice, if I remember well. But the tomato starter was tasty and fresh, the main course was turkey with mushroom sauce and the dessert a chocolate fondant, each of the dishes was good, well prepared and served by a chef, friendly well above the French average. A place to return.

This was a case were I failed to consult Trip Advisor before entering. We happended to park in this street and everywhere seemed closed. We opted to go in having spent some time speaking to owner chef too talkative and tries to impress....The starters we opted for fish based were fine though nothing special. The main course was below average particularly the XXL burger which the chef boasted so much about. There are better places in town, and always reach out for Trip Advisor!
Really friendly owner. Spoke very good English and very helpful. We must have still been there 1 hour after closing and were never hurried. In fact he tried to make us stay for another complimentary Armagnac. Very interesting choice of salads. Had tremendous chicken supreme....Very generous portion sizes meant that I had no room for desert. Really nice dining room and a great Syrah wine, apparently recommended by the President of his wine club. I will definitely return.
open on Sunday evening with man and woman team. goat cheese with honey starter and salate de comoagnw bite almost a meal, followed by bavette and sirloin steaks. limited but good selection of local wein to various trips. a really nice, friendly place, highly recommended. libourne. is a good stop on the way to Spain. we'll see each other again. stay at the boutique mini hotel le patio equally beautiful.
we were here for dinner on a Sunday night. the main tasted really good, accompanied by beautiful crying. dessert was fantastic. the owner and his wife were very friendly and although we do not speak French, this was not a problem.

fantastic eating here very french . wonderful eating and really nice staff, a great evening. I would recommend to everyone to come here for a great French meal, and very cheap. beautiful rosen wine also.
Stopped off here on our way to the South a perfect lunchtime spot. Delicious three course meal and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.
