I've had a few attempts to dine at Lachlan's because other people have wanted to go there. I have contacted staff in advance to let them know I am vegan because I know they have nothing on their regular menu. With a lot of negotiation, you might get something other than a side dish of steamed vegetables or salad. Even if you succeed, the amount of fuss you have to make to let staff know that a chef has promised a vegan meal is unbelievable and stressful, so it is hard to avoid the food you eventually receive. I have also had the experience when we booked in a group and were asked to pre-order, then had to pay for someone who didn't show up, but they wouldn't let us take that person's food as...
first we were surprised there is a restaurant inside the MGSM building. There wasn't a single person when we arrived, and we were a bit worry that we were in the wrong place. i guess the location may be the factory why (there end up only 3 tables for the night) But the food is quite good. we order the chicken and salmon. The breast is perfectly cook and very moist. The salmon comes in cream sauce and is wonderfully done. the wine list is quite good as well. we end up have a wonderful dinner and enjoy a very quiet dinner .
Go here whenever I stay in the adjoining Hotel. Menu changes seasonally- which is more than i can say for the chain business hotels also in the area (you could die from boredom from some of their menus that never change - even though they know most of the hotel guests are regulars). Staff are attentive and professional. Is never really busy unless there is a function on- which is a shame- because it is good food.
We were disappointed with our meal which lacked flavour and flair in its preparation. Our entree of scallops was particularly disappointing and the main course of barramundi fish was bland and lacking interest. The dessert of chocolate volcano was good. Service was adequate. Reasonable quality wines were available by the glass as well as by the bottle.

The food is pretty good, but thee overall atmosphere is really dull. It's like eating in one of those English Men's Clubs you see in movies. Service is adequate but ordinary. Go there for a quiet (very quiet dinner). parking is also a problem, especially for the disabled.
This was a helpful place to meet friends and have a quieter discussion away from the frenzy of the Macquarie Centre and some of the larger restaurants in the area. Reasonable range of food and excellent for the price with very good desserts.
We ate here as a group of about 14 in September 2016. Dietary needs were all met, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. For a small group, book the private Lakeside Room.
I had driven from Melbourne to Sydney and had been caught in torrential rain walking my dog looking for somewhere to have a nice glass or wine (or 2)

We ate here on our last night, brilliant food at a reasonable price. The staff were great and there is a decent menu to chose from.
A nice find for a quiet dinner. The Fish of the day Ocean trout dish was superb!
