Petit restaurant qui vaut le détour, loin des établissements touristiques et avec le charme de l'authentique. Un menu à 18€ entrée/plat/dessert/quart de vin les midis en semaine et des pizzas faites maison le soir. Pour ceux qui veulent goûter le fameux cassoulet c'est également la bonne adresse ! Terrasse agréable pour l'été. Il est conseillé de réserver sa table surtout en saison. So we were walking from Carcassonne to Arzens on our first day of the Chemin de Piedmont. This is the pilgrimage walk to Santiago Spain that follows the foothills of the Pyrenees. Incredibly beautiful and very uncrowned. Anyway, not a lot of options in Arzens, but this bar restaurant had great wine and pizza. We found that in rural areas of this part of France, pizza was often the only choice that was going to be less than 40 euros for the two of us. Very friendly and really great wood-fired pizza. This region of France has some incredible Rose's. Reasonably priced as well.
The best steak of the holiday was at L'arzenais. A relatively small village restaurant outside Carcassonne, it was one of the best experiences of our trip. The food was well prepared and presented by a very friendly host. The restaurant appeared to have been recently decorated and refurbished very clean and welcoming.
